If the kitten got in -- chances are, the kitten can get out. If you can find where the kitten got in, try luring it out with food -- while you stand back so as not to frighten it. But to remove the baseboard -- generally you have to tear it out with a claw hammer. They are often nailed in at the top from inside the cabinet, though some are only nailed on the front face. Expect it to not look as good when you are done as it did before you started. (here, kitty kitty kitty!)
