  • Edit your post with the orange pencil icon. Take out the ' and key it back in, then save it with the red save icon. It may take a little while for the change to show in the questions list. Go see your school counselor or other mental health professional, but only if you're willing to take the meds. Otherwise its just a waste of time and money and not just yours. If this severely interferes with your ability to work you may need to apply for disability.
  • I had BPD all my life. The symptoms started when I was nine years old and I managed to get it under control. I am now stable and healthy. I went down the medical route. I was in hospitals, on medication, saw psychiatrists, psychologists, and at the end of the day, it was me who had to sit with the condition. I had to work to fix me. Seeing a doctor once a week, or a psychologist was not enough to hold me together, so I had to go beyond that to find my healing. There are three areas that you must work on to become stable: mind, body and spirit. You can't only work on one area and ignore the others. A doctor or psychologist can help, but you also have to do self-help. MIND: analyze your mind for any unresolved issues that need to be dealt with. Anything you can think of that has hurt you in the past. You need to acknowledge the pain, understand it, come to terms with it and accept it so that you can set it free. Anything that you are now currently experiencing needs the same attention. Relationship problems, self-esteem problems, fear, anxiety, emptiness, unmet needs. All of those (and much more) need to be resolved. BODY: It is important to know if you have any food intolerances. I only found out many years down the line that I was gluten intolerant (there are other foods you can be intolerant to as well). And I learnt through research that an intolerance (such as gluten intolerance) can not only cause inflammation in the body, but also in the brain. So, it is worth it to know whether there are any foods you should avoid by going for an intolerance test. Secondly, you also need to eat foods that are natural and healthy, and avoid foods such as refined sugar, refined carbohydrates (white flour, etc.), artificial food colourants, preservatives, flavour enhancers (e.g. MSG), artificial sweeteners (e.g. aspartame), caffeine, and even chocolates. Chocolates can cause mood swings due to the neurotransmitter spikes it causes, resulting in lows, creating unstable moods. Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) can cause symptoms similar to BPD and bipolar. Eating good, proper meals containing whole foods (brown rice instead of white rice, for example) will help to keep blood sugar stable. Drinking enough water (between meals) helps to hydrate brains cells, so they can function properly. Exercise helps. Fresh air is also important. SPIRIT: connect with God through His Word and prayer. He understands you better than anyone else in the world. And loves you.
