What can i do if someone sold me a car, title not in their name and signature not on the back??
Okay well back in May I bought a car from a guy, and paid 2 thousand that day, and was supposed to pay the other 1 thousand the following Monday. Well the day after that, I went to his house with the police cause the car has thousands of dollars in repairs it needs (if done by a mechanic shop) and since we had a notorized agreement of when I'd pay the other thousand, the police couldn't do anything, well after getting the title from him we realized it wasn't in his name at all or signed on the back, neither was the registration. so now I can't switch it into my name or get it registered. Is there anything I can do about it? Because I'm pretty sure that's illegal, and he's arguing with me that he juss wants the title switched in my name and he'll leave me alone.

Only idiots buy vehicles with titles not under the seller's name. This just means the car never legally belonged to the person who sold you the car. Selling a vehicle without a proper title or proof of ownership can result in title transfer issues, criminal fines or even jail time if court procedures are taken.
