Be sure power cables are installed properly on motherboard. Unplug power, remove cmos battery, put shorting jumper on "clear cmos" and hold power switch for 30 seconds, then remove jumper, put in battery and power. If that doesn't work, remove cpu from socket, check that pins are not bent or dirty, then put it back. Be sure the exact cpu model is on the mfr's supported list for the motherboard. Sometimes, motherboards require later updates for newer cpu's. Remove and put back memory simms.
