  • Get a voice recorder, record you reading a paragraph from a book, and listen to it closely. If it sounds okay (clear, no heavy accent, etc.) then it likely ain't your problem. Many retards tune you out if you ain't saying anything they want to hear. On the other hand, if the recording sounds off, you probably need to work on pronunciation, speech therapy, ESL, or whatever. I once knew a Brit whose accent was so off, I could only understand a few words out of every sentence.
  • They may be ignoring you.
  • You need to be clearer when you speak. 🤷‍♀️
  • Beg pardon, could you repeat that, please?
  • Well I take it English is a foreign language for you, correct me if I'm wrong, I don't have too many problems regarding understanding people who's second language is English, because we have so many accents to get our heads around in the UK anyway. I think it's courteous for us english speakers, to make the effort to just listen more, even though my Thai friend has broken english, I understand what she's saying, I quite like broken English, it makes you realise all the unnecessary filler words we have. All you can do is practice, but you are never going to have the Queens english, so just do the best you can, most english speaking people cannot speak another language as much as most foreign speakers can with English. If I have it wrong and it's just you are not speaking loud and clear, then again that takes practice and confidence, I speak quietly myself and have had to learn to project my voice in certain circumstances.
