I am suprised no one has brought up... Settlers of Catan! There are 121,645,100,408,832,000 different ways to arrange the game (i didn't make up that number) so no two games are the same.... unless you have no life

My favorite board game would definitely be Monopoly, although Risk does come in close. Monopoly is a great game that is fun no matter how many people (provided that there is at least three people). If Jenga were a "board" game, then it would probably rank third.

i like arctiulate (the talking version of pictionary).... then Monopoly then Battleships

Piratisimo (a German board game). In it you navigate ships around the board picking up 'gold' pieces while trying to avoid the cyclone and other ships that would steal your gold. The goal is to fill your home dock with gold pieces (about 2x around the board). Labrynth by Ravensburger (another German game) is a close second.

Scrabble. I haven't played it in a long time, but it was a staple when growing up. My dad always won because he had a fantastic vocabulary 9always did word games). He taught me the words zloty and pelf... anyone want to know what they mean? LOL

There is a great strategy board game I found at a local shop called 'Kill Dr. Lucky'. It's kind of a reverse-Clue. You need at least three players & game length can vary greatly.

Trivial Pursuit is my favourite, but it's difficult to find anyone interested in playing. Also love monopoly....once played a game of monopoly with my husband that lasted 17 days.

Ooh point of contention in our house. The kids love a board game, particularly Trivial Pursuit. Husband finds it tedious. We've now reached an agreement, we play the short game and use different card sets for different people.
