1996 Oldsmobile Achieva, turn the key its starts right away and smoothly, then dies. It does this every time.

Is the security light on? If you turn the key to the run position and the light stays on for more than 30 seconds you have a security problem. Try this. If the light stays on, leave the key in the run position untill the light turns off (About 10 minutes) then turn the key off, wait 30 seconds and then try to start. This is a key re-learn.

It may not be getting fuel. Fuel injectors or the fuel pump could be the issue.
