Some do. In the winter I actually had one escort me to my car with an umbrella when there was freezing rain and I had left my umbrella at work. So nice :)

...no, im child labor or something...unless im at ralphs when vinnys working...THEN...i hurass him in to walking me to my car...>_<
-
HaHaHaHa, that's a good one..We're lucky if they help bag the stuff. You could have 2 broken arms and they wouldn't care.

At the store I work at (which is a local chain of hypermarkets which sale both department store goods and grocries) it is avalibe upon request. Some supermarkets also do it but its increasingly becoming rare around here.
-
No but I'm not pregnant either. How you doing yo?...
-
Actually these days I offer to help them add and bag groceries.
-
no, if they did i would think that something was wrong with them.
-
Yes, and that was my first "real" job.
-
All the places around me offer all the time.
-
Only one does consistently. The others sometimes ask; it may depend on how many people they have bagging that day.

No. I can't ever get any help. I've even tipped the few times I got help to encourage more help in the future. I bag them myself-the works. My worst experience was in the winter 8 1/2 months pregnant. I was nesting, getting enough food for the next six weeks. No one helped. My feet were so swollen and my hands were practically useless. The customers were nice-always giving me room to get by with my huge belly. The last time-the bag boy was out in the lot talking on his phone. Good luck with your pregnancy-

Yes, they always do.
-
Nope ...never seen that here :) !

They stopped doing that in our area about 3 months ago. When we moved to this state I was shocked the first time they asked. I had never heard of that where I had lived before.
-
I live in Southern Maryland, and they used to do that when I was younger, I am 21 now. So it has been awhile, it was nice though.

No. As a former grocery store employee, I can tell you that the reason for this is that we are not paid enough and are treated like absolute poop by many customers and most managers. We are told to put the bags in the cart if someone requests it. However, I had no problem helping people who looked like they needed help (elderly, pregnant, injured, disabled...). There were also quite a few jerky middle-aged women who liked to force us poor, underpaid, crapped on employees to serve their every whim, and then complained to our managers that we were not fast enough.

The closest one, about a quarter mile from my home, does at no extra charge, and even ask that you do not tip the carry outs. That is why I like to go to the grocery store that's 7 or 8 miles from here. There, you do your own bagging and carry out and trunk placement. One less person you're obligated to meet is worth the extra drive and time and all that.

More so when I lived back East...not so much around here although I have been offered once or twice when I had both of my kids with me.
-
There is no assistance from grocery workers
-
nope i dont need help thank goodness
-
I don't have a car, and grocery employees do not assist any customers with the loading of groceries
-
At Aldi they don't even bag the groceries! But I've had friends and even strangers offer to help me. Apparently I look as if I'm about to pass out from the effort!! lol And I'll admit some days I feel that way, too! But nowadays you can do the curbside thing or have them delivered, you just have to pay extra for it.

When I lived in St Thomas, they always helped you to your car expecting a tip.
