not at all, i'm afraid of the sunburns though hehe.
-
I'm afraid to swim anywhere where the water is over my head. I don't mind the water but I have to know if I want to stop I can put my feet down and stand up. So needless to say I don't really go swimming.
-
No, there are a lot of beautiful creatures in the ocean.
-
So far no fear unless there is threat of killer sharks and bad weather.
-
It depends...I did have a bad experience swimming in the ocean when I was a child. I'm sure that doesn't help.
-
No. I like swimming in the ocean.
-
No, I love swimming in the ocean. A man-o-war stung me last year when I was swimming in the ocean, but I'm still eager to go back.
-
i don't swim in a pool, so you would never find me in an ocean.
-
No, the beauty of it takes my breath away.
-
depends on how close to a major city it is. if close then yes, but if the water is really clean then no. there will be no hospital that could save me but it will be one heaven of a wave.
-
Yes, it's full of fish poop.
-
Yes, scared to death. The fact that I can't see whats under the water really makes me nervious.
-
It depends upon where I am. The ocean by my house is near a flood control channel and everything tossed in the street from inland cities winds up in our ocean when it rains. They take the bacteria count every day, but it doesn't get posted until two or three days later. Besides, I wouldn't want to scare the fish.:)
-
I do. I am not the strongest swimmer. I sometimes do it anyway since I also enjoy the feeling of jumping a big wave!
-
Yes, Im scared of fish though
-
No.
-
Or too well educated. To me it's like roaming through a jungle only you're unarmed, almost naked and virtually powerless yo...
-
Yeah. Which is kind of sad really, cause I live so close to the ocean.
-
Loooove the ocean. I grew up swimming in the Carribean. Now I live 2 kms from the Mediterranean...Love, love, loooove the ocean!
-
I'm afraid to swim anywhere.. considering I don't swim.
-
Yeah. I can't see what's under there, plus there could be medical waste and angry sea creatures hell bent on biting my toes off. CHOMP!
-
Absolutley not
-
Sharks? The fact that I am a weak swimmer? NO way.... I'm still storming out there!
-
No...I love the ocean
-
Nope,I live in NW Florida. The Gulf Of Mexico is our coast. Sugar white beaches and emerald green water. I HATE "going to the beach". I do however love watersports. Case in point,....I don't actually "swim" in the ocean. I find that boring, the salt water gets sticky and such. I'd much rather "swim" in a pool. BUT ! There's MORE! There is an enormous excitement riding a waverunner (personal watercraft , some call them "jet skis") amongst a pod of bottle nosed dolphins. The excitement of being that close to such beautiful creatures is an amazing feeling. For some reason, they like to play a game I can only call "chase". It only happens once-in-awhile, but I've actually had wild dolphins "play" with me after I get off of the waverunner. I aint scared as long as I have some kind of vehicle to get me out of there. Sharks are supposedly bad in southern Florida. Don't let the Movie "Jaws" scare you.
-
I'm not afraid, but I find it quite unpleasent. Many people mistake this for fear and it annoys me to no end.
-
That depends on where. I'm not sure I'd have the nerve to swim in the ocean near the Australian north coast where there are salties, great whites, box jellies, and blue ringers. However, I had no fear swimming in English Bay near Vancouver, Canada, at Ipanema Beach near Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and at the cleaner beaches in the southern California area.
-
yeap i am. i still try and get in there though because i know i will regret not doing it later. you never know whats hiding under that water if you ask me...
-
i get in but dont get far out like i did when i was a kid.
-
No, I'm not afraid to swim in the ocean. I am afraid of all the pollution, used baby nappies and all the other shit I might swallow if I do go for a quick dip.
-
Obviously am afraid bcoz of the contaminated ocean water with sewage water and other shits! and even am afraid of living things in the ocean.
-
Not at all. We even went in last month while it was quite wild. My dad loved the ocean. He would lay on his back and float up and down with the waves and also would swim. Guess I could relate.
-
Yep. Now more than ever. I want to be able to see what im swimming with.
-
Not at all :)
-
No, I love it!
-
No. I enjoyed swimming inthe Atlantic Ocean.
-
no-as long as i don't think about what could possibly be underneath me-but it is a such a great experience!
-
Yes. I do have an unreasonable fear of sharks.
-
A little bit...because of jellyfish not sharks.
-
Nope. I love to swim in the ocean.
-
Yes, since I heard that Al-Queeda are training suicide tuna
-
I don't like to swim out to far and as long as I am swimming inside the flags I am usually pretty happy to swim in the ocean.
-
No im not.. if a shark wants to attack ill just call up chuck norris
-
no
-
yes very well, especially when there's a great white after you!
-
It depends on your definition of properly. I'm at the top most of the time although I hit the bottom at San Diego once. Luckily, I was only about 10 feet from the beach.
-
Yes. After watching JAWS, the option of going into the ocean was not available.
-
Only if it is very clear. I don't like swimming where I can't see what's there. The pool was salt water on the cruise ship we were on and that was fun because of the bouancy (sp). The water moved with the ships movement. :)
-
It's the only place I feel comfortable to swim. Pools are dirty and crowded. Seawater is soothing and theraputic. I love the waves. If I were attacked by a shark or whatever that would be awful, but since I refuse to live my life based on fears, I would be fine w/my fate.
-
If the ocean is calm then I don't mind it. However I admit that I'm a little timid due to almost being pulled out to sea by a rip. Scared the heck out of me. I was only 6 & I still remember it so clearly.
-
No, but I am rather precautious of the rip currents. They are dangerous, simply because they are difficult to identify, not to mention what is swimming around you, depending on how far you go.
-
Right up until the Jaws music enters my head.
-
No. You just have to be careful. The incoming tide can actually knock you down and scrape you on the sand and broken shells when the waves are high.
