No I couldn't, I would become a vegetarian if I had to do that.
-
No - that would be the time for me to go vegetarian. Which I guess is very hypocritical.
-
If I had too. I don't really know the proper way to prepare any animal except fish, but if I had too then I would try.
-
If I was in survival mode, possibly. Society, however, has shaped me into such a form that I can't stand even looking at meat still resembling the animal.
-
No way I could look it in the eye & take its life, I can't even buy one of those whole chickens & break their bones & cook it. I guess I would become vegan with the rest also.
-
I only kill, prepare, cook, and eat my own animals. tastes so much better that way and much cheaper.
-
Yep. And in a much more humane fashion than chasing it down on my bare feet, pouncing on it, ripping its throat out with my teeth, and gnawing my way through the tastiest portions raw. I'm thinking a good, clean kill during the hunt followed immediately by cleaning the carcass, adding some seasoning to the various cuts of meat, and cooking over an open flame just prior to eating would be much better. In fact, I'm going to have to sign off now. It's dinner time.
-
If I had to... (and I'm talking larger than rabbits... though the anatomy would be pretty close... ) The actual butchering from fully grown animal to quarters would be difficult (I DO have a slight aversion to carcasses that LOOK the the animal), but from the quarters on, I would be fine. (No innards for me, thanks...) (And the larger animals I'd wrap and freeze for later!)
-
Yes, and I've done pretty close to all of that. My husband and I raised our own meat for years. It's a good thing to know exactly what you animals ate and how they were treated, what is in them.
-
I've done it a few times and am looking forward to doing again this fall.
-
if i had yes.
-
Yes, I think I could. I've done it before.
-
If I had to kill it, I'd be a vegetarian! It's tough enough to handle raw meat but I do cook it and eat it. It always tastes better when someone else cooks it though!
-
It's the ONLY WAY TO DO IT!!! If U saw what took place @ the meat packers, U would indeed turn vegan!!! John
-
I have, but do not enjoy it. Almost feels like eating a pet.
-
I can't eat it if I have to kill it.
-
I do so regularly.
-
Yes! Ive done it before a lot of times and ill do it again!
-
Yes. My family and I hunted regularly and raised turkeys and chickens for slaughter when I was younger. I choose not to do it now, because I do not need it to supplement my food bill any longer. I could do it again, if needed.
-
No way.
-
no. i couldnt go and kill an animal myself and then eat it.
-
Yes definitely as if I didn't someone else would anyway.Especially yes if my survival depended on it do pretty much anything then.
-
No, I couldn't. That is a lot of the reason that I don't eat meat.
-
no way i know its ridiculous and illogical but if there werent resteraunts, farms, and companies that did it i would have to be a vegetarian i wouldnt be able to handle actually killing something even though i know its natural and just the food chain I always try to get free range anything
-
I only eat chicken and fish and I think I could kill those two things. Other than that no I couldn't.
-
Not now,i used to go hunting with my dad when i was a kid and the deer meat, moose meat and deer meat/ bear meat was good then but i can,t eat it now!
-
No problem at all...I have killed animals in the past and have no problem now doing it to eat. Most animals were put here to eat. If you do not wish to eat meat that is fine and you don't have to. I even tried being vegitarian for about a year but eventually became a meat eater again.
-
Kinda tough eating them alive yo...:)
-
no i don't think i can....
-
I have a weak heart. I couldn't, my heart would stop cold and I'd fall over for 15 seconds.
-
Yes. I have done it many times. Personally, I find wild game much more tasty than anything you find in the store. As to cattle, chickens, that sort of thing, no problem there either. I used to raise a lot of animals and eat them when I was growing up. Again fresh is best.
-
Yes, I've done it before
-
yes ! do you ever eat lion ? i ate bird but i cannot kill it :(
-
I can do it. We used to raise most of all we ate, plant and animal. We preferred it that way.
-
i am a vegetarian :)
-
No way! I admit it. I love animals to death, but Im not a vegetarian either. I do not like a lot of meat, but beef is my weakness... but will and could never kill a cow for it.
-
Can, will and do!
-
Yes, I could and a vegetable too! They are alive too, you know.
-
I have seen and been about 1 meter from an animal dying, which was later my food. We have bought a sheep and pig and i have seen them get killed, skinned and cooked. Its not a pretty site and you contemplate not eating it. But you must remember that this animal has died for you, so you must treat its remains with respect and kill it in a peace full way. I hate how so many people can treat their food like crap and not appreciate what it once was.
-
I never have, and I don't know how to prepare an animal for eating, but I would have no problem doing so if it meant having something to eat and I was nowhere near a butchers.
-
Yes, except I don't know how to butcher it. I recently helped a buddy do it. We made bologna, ground meat and sausage. Bambi tasted good.
-
Yea,providing it aint too big.I can manage chicken/pheasant,trout and rabbit, and have done so many times...the secret is a good sharp knife
-
Yes indeed, and I have many times over my lifetime so far. It's more difficult now, because I'm old and arthritic. It's usually the younger bucks taking care of all that now, 11/13/22
-
Have done so...with fish. Not the same as a cow, for example, but still...
-
I have. I did put the chicken to sleep before I chopped its head off. My stepfather just shot the cow we butchered, and several deer, pheasants, quail and fish.
-
Yes what would you like to eat? Beef ,lamb. ,pork chicken . I spend a lot of time on varouis farms.
-
To survive, I would do any thing.
