Yes, my dad did.
-
Yes. I don't remember who taught me. I might have read about how to do it.
-
Yeah, I know how. My mom taught me when I was about 11 so I could start the old station wagon my dad gave me to practice driving around on our property.
-
Yes. My dad, the mechanic. :)
-
My dad taught me when I was a kid and since then have had many occasions to do it.

No i havnt got a clue how to jump start a car...mind you i dont drive so there is no need really:-)
-
Well honestly, it's not so difficult to do this. Just make sure black and red match up. I suppose my father taught me this but it's just common sense anyway so...
-
Sure. The ol' man taught me years ago. Red: positive Black: negative. Not much too it.
-
I do not know how..that whole procedure intimidates me..I know that plus/minus is involved and if you hook up the jumper cable to the plus when it should be to the minus (postiive, negative) it will be very bad. :(
-
My brothers taught me, we worked on cars all the time, I even took mechanics class for three years. Red - positive Black - negative.
-
Yes, and I've done it many times. I don't remember who taught me. I'm guessing my Dad. It's one of those things that I just seem to always remember knowing.

Both cars OFF. Connect good positive to bad positive Then, connect good negative to the frame of the dead car, NOT the battery terminal. This avoids potential explosions that could be caused by sparks too close to the battery. Turn on the engine of the good car, then turn on the engine of the dead car. My dad taught me this when I first got my license, and I've performed probably dozens of jumpstarts for co-workers and friends over the years.

My dad taught me all kinds of handy car things. This was one of them.

Well I learned how to jump start a car and change tires at the same time under the rain by myself over a pay phone..i had a flat tire...and i was changing the tire with all the lights on..then i tried starting my car it wouldn't start lol..So i had to learn on my own..It cost me 2 hours..3 dollars for the pay phone..and catching a cold the next day from the weather that night:p

i know the procedures, but have not ever done it myself.

Yes ... my older sister taught me ... I was 14 when she was 16 ... her and her boyfriend spent the summer gathering parts and assembling her first car from scratch, then street racing it ... I helped when I could and learned a lot about automotives that summer of 1965.
