  • Mohammad didn't say he was second to Jesus, just that he succeeded him. No, he didn't pray to Jesus, only to his god Allah. Acc to Mohammed, Jesus or Isa al-Masih (Jesus the Messiah) was only one of a string of prophets (nabi) sent to earth by Allah to tell the one message. Now here is where I get DRd. If Jesus' title is al-Masih, the Messiah, where did that name come from? The only place is in the Old Testament/Tanakh Scriptures, which Islam claims have been corrupted to tell a different message from the Quran. HOWEVER, manuscript evidence, which is incredibly detailed, and open to all to study, shows conclusively that between the years 200BC and the present, the OT has not been changed, so the Quranic claim is clearly in error. The OT predicts a single figure, called the Messiah (Mesach), who will complete the salvation of the world, and whose coming is predicted in details by the OT prophets. (esp Isaiah 53, where his crucifixion and suffering for the world is graphically described 600 years before it happened). The New Testament shows clearly that this Mesach is Jesus, and that He is God's final word, the fulfilment of the prophecies made from Adam to the Prophets, the Saviour of the world. Neither the OT nor the NT (the textual transmission of both of which are amply proven accurate and untampered with) see any future religious leader. Jesus was the final word until his second coming. They do not predict Muhammad in any way.
  • Here’s an Islamic perspective. 1 Your statement “Since mohammad, admits he is 2nd to Jesus” has no basis in Islam. The HQ asks Muslims to make no distinction between God’s prophets, they are all accepted by Muslims without exception. HQ 2:285 says “The Messenger (Mohammed) believes in what hath been revealed to him from his Lord, as do those with faith. Each one (of them) believeth in God, His angels, His books, and His apostles. (they say) "We make no distinction between one and another of His apostles." And they say: "We hear, and we obey: (We seek) Thy forgiveness, our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys." 2 God sent prophets and messengers to every nation. HQ 35:24 says “Verily We have sent thee (Mohammed) in truth, as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a warner: and THERE NEVER WAS A PEOPLE, WITHOUT A WARNER HAVING LIVED AMONG THEM (IN THE PAST).” 3 Mohammed is the last in the long chain of Messengers of God. HQ 33:40 says “Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of God, and the SEAL OF THE PROPHETS: and God has full knowledge of all things.” Mohammed came after Jesus with no prophet that we’ve been told of between the two. So Jesus was the second last. 4 There is no statement in the Bible to say that ANY prophet before Jesus or any after him prayed to Jesus. He (Jesus) NEVER asked ANYONE to worship him. We actually find him in the Bible teaching people to pray. According to Luke 11:2-4 "he (Jesus) said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins…" Christ’s clear instructions were that people should PRAY TO GOD. He DID NOT instruct people to “pray to Jesus”.
  • no. from my limited reading of the quran and limited understanding of islam they, like thomas jefferson, don't believe in the divinity of jesus so they would not pray to him nor do they pray to mohamed. he's seen as a prophet of god.
  • Hey wait a minute if Muhammad had admited that he was second to Jesus(meaning his senior) then he would have taught others to follow Jesus is it not. The Arab and muslim tradition is to follow the teacher and become a master of the learning of the teacher from all of his teachers for generations. The prophet muhammad peace be upon him never made any such statement that he was second to Jesus peace be upon him nor did he pray to Jesus or in Jesus name. He did say that all prophets are brothers and no one is close to Jesus the son of Mary than him. He also stated that if Jesus or any other prophet were alive during his lifetime(or after) they would have no choice but to say There is no God other than Allah and that Muhammad is his servent and messenger. He further claimed to have spiritually/physically traveled to Jerusalem leading all the prophets including Jesus in prayer then ascending to the seven heavens surpassing angels and being consoled by Moses while receiving commandments from God. This is a normal thing in Islam as a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad had visions of receiving revelations from Abraham while visiting his tomb in the Holy lands before her death in Egypt and many other muslims have visions of the prophet muhammad which they regard as sound and factual. The Quran stated about the prophets of GOd (Jesus is considered a prophet in Islam) we do make any distiction between any of the messengers (the we referring to God and his angelic majesty). The prophet muhammad based on the Quran taught that praying to Jesus or any man or any prophet or any saint or any angel or any spirit or any figure alive or dead is forbidden and one should only pray directly to God. He also taught the Jesus is the Messiah, the messenger of God the spirit of Allah, the prophet of God and will return before the end of the world but as a muslim not a Jew, a Christian, Buddhist, etc.
  • Remember no one will attain new knowledge if they cannot empty their cup. Do not read the quran looking for a proof to what you already believe about Jesus, rather just read the quran the way you would read any other book from cover to cover then process that informations and be knowledgeble about it whether you agree with it or not. Once again, Muhammad never said he was second to Jesus in terms of highearchy and he never prayed to Jesus or in his name as this is neither in the Quran nor in any supporting Islamic text nor in any sound historical account. He did believe in Jesus as a prophet but no more than that. A ford might have four doors, a Mercury might also have four doors but the smart person can tell the difference between a Ford car and a Mercury Car, similarly the word Messiah might be what is confusing you into thinking that Muhammad prayed to Jesus. PLease remember that the word Messiah was not invented with the birh of Jesus and its literal meaning has nothing to do with the Christian doctrine of what a messiah is in Christianity. Therefore a Messiah in Judaism and in Islam is not the same as messiah in Chrisitianity just as a Ford is not a Mercury and a wool suit is not a polyester suit. One must empty the preconceptions and study with an open mind to grasp religious knowledge.
  • Coexist, borasalama is so right. Islam is not just a religion, it IS a way of life. My life has changed completely and Islam figures in almost everything I do in a most positive way. I am now living a life I never knew existed before; and loving it.
  • Where does Muhammad (pbuh) admit he is 2nd to Jesus (pbuh)? Can't wait for your answer!!!
  • Let's compare the two men: . Jesus preached tolerance, forgiveness and love for fellow man. . Mo (pbuh) 'preached' greed, hate and love for underage little girls in the bath... wives, little slaves girls by the hundreds. This is one reason europe is suffering a 'rape jihad' today... usually underage girls.
  • I don't think Islam considers Jesus to be the son of God. So there wouldn't really be a bases for prayer.
  • Who is mohammad
  • Only when his bank balance started getting low.
