A plant under 10ft tall is not considered a tree. If a plant grows only a few feet after more than one growing season, it's not a tree at all.

Because trees in the emergent layer get more sunlight so they are taller but trees in the canopy and understory layer are slightly smaller because they don't receive as much sunlight as trees in the emergent layer which are the tallest type of trees in a tropical rainforest.....
