I'll answer your second Q first - No, leave them alone because they enjoy the distinction of being different from the rest of the boring forest. Are they offended ? Hardly, they sneer at the thought because their bark is thick enough to endure all sorts of punishing and degrading insults. However, they are very proud and happy to be called "dwarf trees".... If you think about it .... Have you ever known a biker who disliked being called a "biker" ? Or a beach bum being called a "beach bum". .It makes sense right ?? If it ain't broke .. don't fux with it ! : )

I don't think trees get offended easily, although I'm told there was once unrest in the forest, trouble with the trees, for the maples want more sunlight & the oaks ignore their pleas. Trees of diminished stature?

I never thought trees could get offended until I saw M. Night Shyamalan's "The Happening." That movie taught me just how offended trees could be at horrible directing and acting.
