Alcohol?

Tobacco.

tobacco... by a country mile ... and I know because it took me over 30 years to give it up ... and I use to take all that you have mentioned ..except meth

I really hope you dont have a one word answer for this. Addiction is very complex, and hard to measure. Stimulants meth, cocaine and tobacco (OXY could be put into this group but it is not a stimulant) have the strong physical addictive almost feind like qualities. Alcahol has incredible psycological properties that can make it addicting, and it does for so many. (you can put all of theese drugs into this catagory) I very strongly want to say OXY, I had issues with that drug in the past and it snuck up on me. I dont think it is really the right answer though.

You sure can, but i can't rate you. it would'nt be fair :)

The most destructive drug is meth. The most addictive is tobacco. That's my vote.
-
LSD. it's phycodelic.

LSD and the other Hallucinogens are not addictive. There may be "exceptions", such as Ketamine, but remember that Ketamine is not a hallucinogen, it is a disassociative hypnotic, the exact opposite of a hallucinogen in terms of perspective. Dis-associatives cause hallucinatory experiences that dissassociate yourself from everything outside of what is the "self." Meanwhile, hallucinogens cause "dreamlike fantasies" and largely place the mind more in tune with the world, IE reduces the brain's level of filtration of experiences. That is why music sounds more beautiful on LSD. LSD is more well researched than any drug, even Marijuana, with the exception of perhaps the legal drugs. This research has taken place since the Swiss doctor Hoffman first synthesized it (in the early 1950's or late 40's, if memory serves me). As for your answer, nicotine is the most addictive substance, followed by Caffeine, alcohol, opiates, and cocaine, in order. -Dr. P

"Which drugs are the most addictive? This is a difficult question to answer because it depends upon a lot of factors in both the drug and the person who uses it. In an attempt to define clearly what is meant by addiction, and which drugs are the most addictive, Dr. Jack E. Henningfield of the National Institute on Drug Abuse and Dr. Neal L. Benowitz of the University of California at San Francisco ranked six psychoactive substances on five criteria. Withdrawal -- The severity of withdrawal symptoms produced by stopping the use of the drug. Reinforcement -- The drug's tendency to induce users to take it again and again. Tolerance -- The user's need to have ever-increasing doses to get the same effect. Dependence -- The difficulty in quitting, or staying off the drug, the number of users who eventually become dependent Intoxication -- The degree of intoxication produced by the drug in typical use. The tables listed below show the rankings given for each of the drugs. Overall, their evaluations for the drugs are very consistent. It is notable that marijuana ranks below caffeine in most addictive criteria, while alcohol and tobacco are near the top of the scale in many areas. The rating scale is from 1 to 6. 1 denotes the drug with the strongest addictive tendencies, while 6 denotes the drug with the least addictive tendencies. HENNINGFIELD RATINGS Substance Withdrawal Reinforcement Tolerance Dependence Intoxication Nicotine 3 4 2 1 5 Heroin 2 2 1 2 2 Cocaine 4 1 4 3 3 Alcohol 1 3 3 4 1 Caffeine 5 6 5 5 6 Marijuana 6 5 6 6 4 BENOWITZ RATINGS Substance Withdrawal Reinforcement Tolerance Dependence Intoxication Nicotine 3* 4 4 1 6 Heroin 2 2 2 2 2 Cocaine 3* 1 1 3 3 Alcohol 1 3 4 4 1 Caffeine 4 5 3 5 5 Marijuana 5 6 5 6 4 *equal ratings" Source and further information: http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/Library/basicfax5.htm It looks like heroin would be the most addictive, but alcohol and cocaine seem also quite addictive.

1.) Tobacco 2.) Alcohol - but this also seems to have the greatest variation among patterns of use from the person who has a glass of wine two times a year to a full blown alcoholic who drinks 1.5 liters of vodka a day 3.) Oxy (I assume you mean oxycontin/opiates) 4.) Meth - would be higher but people who are on meth usually in such a bad state and institutionalized 5.) Cocaine - hard, major, major cravings, but quitting won't physically destroy you like alcohol or opiates can 6.) Weed - despite what people say about it not being addictive, it can definitely cause psychological dependece or habituation 7.) LSD - a long 7th - never really heard of anyone ever getting addicted on it Of course there are major variations with each individual. I mean, there are a lot of people in my experience who can use pot, alcohol, or LSD without addiction but most people who start using tobacco, opiates, meth, or coke start using it to the point where they either get addicted or realize they have to stop or else they will become addicted. If they are lucky, they do stop.

Nicotine.

The most addictive drug ever produced is nicotine. Every 30 mins I go for a smoke, when it doesn't come with a buzz or make me feel good. It only makes me feel out of breath, a sore throat from too many and a reek of bad smell and yellow teeth. =(

I have been addicted to perks for a little over 2 and a half years now, and it is getting to the point where i still LOVE the feeling it gives me, calms and relaxes me, but im running out of places to get it and money. so i have decided to stop, which is awful. the withdrawls are horrible. BUT i am slowing down completely. and am very proud of this ahah. please NO ONE get addicted to these, they do not seem like a big deal, but taking more than 15-30 a day, will catch up with you! and trust me, you do not want to be addicted to those.

My own experience: tobacco, alcohol, cocaine, meth, lsd, weed. I don't know what oxy is. I gave them all up 30 years ago. Thank You, God!

From my experience with these, I myself would have to put it in this order: Cocaine: 10 Methamphetamine: 7 Marijuana: 5 Alcohol: 3 Opiates: 2 LSD: 1 Tobacco: 1 The numbers represent the level of addictiveness for me on a scale of 1-10. Cocaine has by far been the worst. I've never really been "addicted" to anything, i've always been able to stop doing whatever. With cocaine, whatever I bought, I would HAVE to do all of it fast. But wouldn't go after more once I was out. Meth never really gave me that urge to keep doing it. I little went a long ways. It was nice to wake up to, and lose some weight. But not worth the damage on my body it started to cause. Now weed. I've smoked for the past 7 years straight almost. Mostly only used as a sleep aid. It's addictive in the sense that I keep going back to it. I can stop whenever I feel the need, as I have many times. Drug tests for Jobs, my own health reasons, and few times just to remind myself that I can. I recently stopped, and really, I don't like it anymore. It can mess me up more than any other drug, or it can be completely calm. The rest of the "drugs" I've never really had problems with. I would never seek them out, if they're offered, i'd do it, and the next day wouldn't think about it at all. Alcohol seems somewhat additive in a social sense. I usually only drink when I'm with other people. I can't stand beer or wine. All alcohol tastes gross to me no matter what. I can't for the life of me understand how tobacco is addicting. I've smoked plenty of times, and it never does anything for me, at least that's worth giving myself cancer and such. The times I do smoke, is if I get a cigarette handed to me, usually so I'll smoke with a friend. I have been diagnosed, I guess, with bi-polar disorder. It's very mild, but this could have A LOT to do with the addictiveness of any drugs. I prefer "uppers" anytime, because it makes me feel more normal.

Lol... there is no one answer for what the most addictive drug is. It varies per person. I've tried crystal meth, and I didn't like it. But for someone who likes the effects of stimulants it would be HIGHLY addictive and dangerous. I hope this question was an educational experience for YOU.

And by the way, you should summarize "OXY" as just opiates/opioids
-
It has to be meth or tobacco.
-
none of these nicotine
