The Hayabusa is consistently tested as the quickest and fastest production motorcycle in the world around the year 2000 and still is. With this in mind you can say that it IS a good first bike to break you into the superbike scene to become a step ahead of your peers or other bikers. On the other hand, this bike is more of a nig NO for first time riders since it is a speed demon and should be handled/operated by experienced driver. Ride at your own risk as far as motorcycles go but the Hayabusa is beastly.
-
As far as your first time to ever ride? I personally don't think it is a good starter bike it has lot of power and very fast you should start with a 600-1000 like a GSX or something busa's are longer and heavier. Start with something a little smaller than upgrade when you have more expierence. I started on a Honda CBR 600
-
Absolutely not, even if you put an Hyabusa engine in to a small car you would still have too much power for a beginner, so take the advise others have given. If your a generation X'er, nah, I better not comment on the X factor. Stay up right, FTW
-
No.
-
I agree with everyone else if this is your first motorcycle ,and you have to have a sport bike, stick with the 600's to start out. You'll find nowadays they have plenty power and are light enough and small enough to learn the basics of riding.
-
If you do not have any prior riding experience on a smaller bike, you will seriously hurt yourself on this bike.
-
only if you have a death wish..why would you buy one of the most powerful streetbikes made as a first bike...zx6 or R6 would be a good first bike
-
If a Hayabusa is your first, enjoy it cause its probably gonna be your last.
-
yeah my friend bought this bike one day as his first bike. I ate lunch with him every day. He wrecked it before he even got to tell me he bought it. That should give you an idea.
-
honestly that answer depends on the person asking.i rode a yamaha v star 650 prior to my 06 busa and if you sak me the busa's my first bike, and self control will have to be practiced, and it's gonna be hard ridding the fastest production bike in the world, and not yanking the throttle.so if there's no self control you may wanna think twice, either about this beast of a bike, or some thearpy for those control issues.
-
No. I would suggest a Buell Blast for a first bike. It's quick, agile, sporty, and best of all - forgiving and built like a brick shit house. It's also made by Harley Davidson
-
It would be a good first motorcycle for about 3 minutes. Then it would be time to go get your second bike.
-
the busa is the most powerful production bike made so if u think that u can handle 192hp on ur first ride buy it top speed is around 200mph
-
The Hayabusa is very large, heavy and fast for a first bike. I would not sugest it unless you are 6'6" 300lbs.
-
LOL!!!!!!!! Yeah right! First and last but I don't know about the 'good' part.
-
It will be a GREAT first and last motorcycle to own. ;) You need to start out on something smaller and with MUCH less horsepower.
-
;) lol! i'm guessing this was a joke question. quite a kick ass bike though ;)
-
me daughter learned on my suzuki bandit 1200 and then would ride my yamaha R1 neither one as fast as the busa but both fast for a first bike. She never crashed either one of them so you could learn on a busa but not ideal it is a expensive bike and even if you stop and drop it youll mess it up, the faster a bike is the quicker you can get in trouble and less time you have to react. Another word of warning the 600s many recomend here are also very fast and I'd be careful even recomending any bike like the R6, or GSXR 6
-
Don't do it man.I own one and this is my third bike. You should stay with 600-750.
-
If you like hospital food
-
I havent riden for months and b4 the Busa i had a Buell 1203.... totally diffferent. You have to have some experience with balancig and manuvering a bike. BUT the Busa is a pussycat. Yes i said it...you don't have to twist the throttle all the way...or tack out at 11k,,,you can do like i did...respect it...shift a 7k ease into first....the aformentioned buell exploded with a 6500 redline...so even a 2000 rpms you have max torque... I was intimidated until they delivered it and i rode it around....its not a death bike... unless your a fool...Humans , thats why i never let anyone drive my 507whpGTO Cause everyone has to floor the huck out of every machine they have especially when its not theirs...instead of feeling the vehicle.....Busa could be good after a motorcycle trianing course
-
Its the best bike...sport tourer not the fault of the manufacturer if you think youu need to try the 180hp on the first day
-
well its the worlds fastest prodution motorcycle and with that said for a beginner i would suggest a smaller bike
-
It's only the good first motorcycle if you have a death wish or are extremely suicidal.
-
again...i dropped it while going 0 mph....not use to the balance ater being rusty for 6 months puttin 400 miles on my first bike a 1200 Man i have a GTO with over 500 hp i have a new clutch...i drive it normal.....no issues and as somone said te 600's and 750's are quick &almost as heavy. self control..... drive it like it is gold...then inch up i personally never see over 7k rpm unless i am on the hwy.... i chew up those little super fast750's and the respect youu get. don't be a wimp i almost wimped out... No issues man....control you wrist and you'll be fine... the others that say death.....you can go 120 on a 550 that will kill you or you can go 60 on a 1300 ....ever see little girls riding 600lb Harleys....its all about balance and control...actually once rolling the Busa is very controlable and i have mods, modest ones but again unless you buy a 250 what a waste....so you drop the busa...factory panels were like 350 dollars....
-
If you want i too be your first and last bike go right ahead. But if your smart you should stick too a cbr600, gsxr600, r6, or fzr600 or some other 600 to start. They are nice light bikes that still have a fair amount of speed to start out on.
-
No, the Hayabusa is too fast, too heavy and too expensive for a first bike. It is classified as a "superbike" because it's got 1300 cc displacement, and it can run up to speeds in excess of 250 kph. It would be like riding a wild bronco or a kentucky derby horse for a first time horse rider. It might throw you off, or worse. But it sure is one hell of a beautiful bike.
-
The busa is a superb bike but asking if its a sensible first bike is a rather foolish question; of course it is not. You will hurt yourself or worse still, someone else. Get a 125 and get some road and vehicle experience, progress towards a 600 and get a couple of years on that under your belt before going anywhere near a 1300 rocketship!

I'm tired of peeople saying it isn't...my buddies CBR600 is more dangerous than my Busa.... its just heavy.....if your tall enough and have balance....and take a course......hell why not. 750's with mods are faster than a Busa and handle better. the Busa is a fiar handler...it handles smoothly since its true nature is a sport tourer. made for hwy running....so long as you don't get the "fear jiggle at low speed" ya know like when you got your bicycle stuck between the grass and the sidewalk... You'll be fine.....the stock twist is long.. meaning you can modulate low speed easily. death machine.....please.....i've seen 500 a**holes mess up cause they have no common sense. example i went to my friends shop and we filled proper air pressure and oiled the chain.....then they all watched me leave.....i left like a granny... i could care less what they think...... they expected me to show the BUSA's mighty power. If your the type f guy thathas to gun it when he leaes to lookk macho then NO it aint for you .....if your smart..and want what every rider dreams of world record potential.....but can control it....Buy it jeeze all you nay sayers are wrong...250 ---1300 you can easily kill yourself on either one...its you the organic component that makes the difference. Grow up and buy it...and don't push your limits...you still be the envey of allthat survey you. BUSA is King and looks wild stock.
-
Probably a good fourth or fifth. Kinda like, is a witch a good first wife?
-
Sure not,it has 1300cc and more than 160hp,so you should buy a motorcycle less ''monster'' first because without having experience you will crash and even die at this point. You could buy a 2-stroke 250cc or something at about 500-600cc. That I would do...
-
Most, present day, motorcycles are powerful enough to get a beginner rider into deep trouble. Surviving depends on the rider, not the motorcycle.
-
Amen every new bike...sans a 250....with run a 12.9 int he 1/4 Last time...if you flat foot a BUSA...and control you yourself....its just fine...i've riden mine once a month snce i got it...no issues...balanced and not over 200mph ..i promise officer.

I'm a tiny girl, I don't have much weight on me. However, the Busa was a fun bike toy around with. My first bike was a home build Harley Davidson softtail about 10 years ago when I was 12. By all means this bike does take some experience, you won't want to hop on it and think you're the best because you have a fast bike. I've seen a lot of young retards die that way. If you get it, take it out to a deserted parking lot, learn the bike, feel the bike. Know your 'rocket' before you decide to take it out into traffic. OH! And if you've never ridden a bike before, always look for an escape route. It'll save your life [half the people driving vehicles on the road don't notice/care about those riding bikes.] Good luck and have fun!
-
It's a little strong for a first. Lot a money and bike to learn on. Take a course, then make up your mind.
-
I litle girl on a Busa.. Sounds like well you know....compensation. HArley gal as well.....hehe.. I've neve lost to any Harley in my HCH GTO.. so i don't think much of em. except that if a gal can ride a 600lbs harley any Guy with 1/2 a brain can ride a Busa.... Mine presently has pipes, a pc3 and TRE and gear indicator...its lowered 3 inches..back and 1 inch front with ) stretch... i have provisions and a tune for a 35 shot. wich is totally unnessary...as the bike stock..is more than 99 of the riders can fully exploit.... also highly recmmended are upgraded rotors and pads. and SS lines.. for consistant bite....upgrade you bike for safety first...brakes was the first thing i did wave rotors and sinstered pads. the lines were taken form a custom job still they are brand name... can we end this question now.
-
yes it can be your first bike as long as you never try and ride it, to much power and speed 600-750 good starter bike dont get fooled by people who say just go slow on busa not possible throttle response is sick on hayabusa and zx-14
-
No, the power is way too much. I would recomemd a 600cc or smaller. If you are small then i would recommend a Kawasaki Ninja 250.
-
its ok very fast but handles like a fat girl on the dancefloor
-
Hell no my first bike was an R1 Bigmistake i nowhave a 50th anniversary R6 and go to deals gap in TN and smoke 1000s and busas
-
yeah if your lookin to kill yourself!!! hayabusas are pointless to own if you only ride on the street. they are all about status. get a yamaha r6!!!
-
DEPENDS HOW EXPERIENCED YOU ARE, IF NOT NO THE BIKE IS TO POWERFUL FOR BEGINNERS
-
ha ha i love some of the answers on here. yeah you dont need anything that goes 109mph straight from the factory and that's with nothing done to it. i started out with a suzuki gsxr 600 and they're really good bikes especially if you've never ridden one before which i hadnt. i didnt even understand the whole shifting gears thing! lol i thought it was a lost cause but i got it finally!
-
hello, i started on xr80 about 20 years ago i currently ride an 08 gsxr 750 outstanding bike to start with or experienced riding i have rode the hayabusa and zx14 if most of your riding is in town or short highway trips you will be upset with the huge bikes as they are alot of work to ride unless you are on drag strip hoped this might have helped you smooth wheelie, bill
-
I am only 16 years old but I have had my experience with motorcycles. Mostly dirt bikes but i have rode a CBR 600 of my neighbors and that is plenty of bike for a first street bike. A 1300 cc bike is just about to big to start out on. I started riding dirt bikes at the age 8 and I started on a XR 80 2000 model. Now I'm at a CRF 150 and I'm going to get something bigger but not because i want to. SIze doesn't matter, it's how you use it. I have a friend with a 125 2 stroke and a 400 four stroke and they can outrun me on a straight away, but in trails I kill them. I hope this helped.
-
no,no no! You have got to be kidding! A hayabusa for a first bike! its like giving a child a flick knife for a toy!
-
Absolutely not. If you have never ridden a motorcycle before, i would suggest getting a cheap dirt bike to get a feel for riding and then progress. I started in the dirt and many things i learned there i have taken to the street. If something like that is not going to work for you get a small bike to learn on and something used or pretty cheap. You will more than likely lay a bike down a few times when you start learning so get something that your not going to fuss over when you make a mistake. The Ninja 250 is a good starting point or a Ninja 500.
-
The Hayabusa is not a good first bike, although it was my second bike. What it comes down to is if your afraid it you will get hurt. It's very easy to get cockie on it.I have had 2 hayabusa's you learn very fast to be carefull.
-
no motorcycle is a good bike for guys. Constant vibrations to your genitals causes ED. Look it up.
-
hell yeah its nice and gentle, you can open it full throttle and not worry much about coming off. i suggest you buy one then give it beans on any bend you find. ideal first bike LMAO +9
-
only if you have a death wish. what are you thinking??
-
Sure, just like a funny car is a good vehicle for a student driver. ;)
-
Hey.If you got the money and good health insurance !! Why not!!!
-
NO, it would scare the crap out of you if you managed to apply throttle for more than 2 seconds without dumping it or hitting something.
