  • I think it's a right, regardless of what you're using them for.
  • I am OK with it. I am a legal gun owner and darn proud of it.
  • I own a handgun for self protection but I'd never hunt an animal with it!
  • My Dad was a cop and I grew up around guns...he has several. I don't have a problem with people owning guns as long as they have had proper training in gun safety.
  • I'm not much for personal protection weapons, I guess because I'm not ready to use it on a human. But if others feel the need and get proper training, it's okay.

I hope you aren't ever faced with the decision of shooting someone to protect yourself or a family member or watching them die because you didn't have the stomach to prevent it.
  • It is our right to be able to defend our selves. I own a weapon and I do not hunt. No one is ever ready to kill a person............I want you to defend that when you are dead and the criminal is free.
  • I'm ok with it, my hubby is a collector.
  • It is every Americans soveriegn right to bear a firearm. The United States government shall make no law or statute that infringes upon the right to bear firearms. Even in our modern times, there are those who protest that this right is out dated and not neccessary because we now have the police to protect us. This is far from the truth, as no police officer is obligated to respond or protect you, there is no law or statute that states that they must protect you. An officer only has to respond if a crime has been committed, and is issued his firearm for his own self protection, not yours. Interesting quotes; “There are not enough jails, not enough police, not enough courts to enforce a law not supported by the people.” - Hubert H. Humphrey quotes (American 38th US Vice President under Lyndon B. Johnson (1965-69) and US Senator from Minnesota (1949-64, 1971-78). 1911-1978) “We live in an age when pizza gets to your home before the police.” - Jeff Marder “Every kind of peaceful cooperation among men is primarily based on mutual trust and only secondarily on institutions such as courts of justice and police” - Albert Einstein quotes (German born American Physicist who developed the special and general theories of relativity. Nobel Prize for Physics in 1921. 1879-1955) Similar Quotes. About: Trust quotes. “The police cannot protect the citizen at this stage of our development, and they cannot even protect themselves in many cases. It is up to the private citizen to protect himself and his family, and this is not only acceptable, but mandatory.” - Jeff Cooper “I do not believe in people owning guns. Guns should be owned only by [the] police and military. I am going to do everything I can to disarm this state.” - Michael Dukakis quotes (Massachussetts Governor, presidential candidate (1988) , American b.1933) “There is no reason for anyone in this country, anyone except a police officer or a military person, to buy, to own, to have, to use a handgun... and the only way to do that is to change the Constitution.” - Michael Gartner “After a shooting spree, they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn't do it. I sure as hell wouldn't want to live in a society where the only people allowed guns are the police and the military.” - William S. Burroughs quotes “Citizens have the natural right and the common sense duty to protect themselves, their families, their communities, and their property...guns are the equalizing tools of self-protection, utopian lamentations notwithstanding.” - Edgar A. Suter Video commentary by Lee Ermy
  • I think if one chooses, he has the right to bare arms.
  • I know I will be relagated to the bottom of the heap for my peaceful view which is looked down upon, views though hope some will get to read it. I am fully against the owning of handguns or any guns that is built for the sole purpose to kill or injure another human being. It is not a way for a civilization to advance, and guns are not a way to solve problems .
  • I own personal protection guns. As soon as they destroy all the other guns, I'll turn mine in to be disposed of as well. Never bring a knife to a gunfight.
  • Guns are pieces of machinery which, like most machinery, can cause harm if mis-used. The ownership and study of firearms provides historical insight to the industrial revolution in western civilization. Owning a gun (or guns) is no more or less significant than owing knives or hammers or screwdrivers or pliers. There is absolutely nothying inherently "wrong" with owning anything. There is something wrong with using anything to deliberately, or negligently hurting another, even if you deliberately drop a bowling ball on their foot. Maybe registering bowling balls will be helpful?
  • I have a large gun collection and rarely hunt. It is my right granted by The Constitution of the United States of America.
  • I'm fine with people having one or two for self defense and home defense, as long as they get lots of proper training ... but I fail to see the need for 80 or 90 guns in a collection.
  • I have a few shotguns. For protection. I't's the owner, not the gun that's the problem.
  • I have no problem with pistols for defense, even perhaps a shotgun if you live near a population of zombies, but when you've got automatic weapons and high powered rifles... I think you've gone too far.
  • I dont want to ever have guns in my home, I am not to keen on anyone else owning them either. If they have them under lock and key when not in use it still seems unsafe to me. This is of course my personal opinion.
  • I feel good about my gun collection,it makes me happy.I am not a big hunter but I do have alot of guns and I enjoy shooting and reloading.
  • I use them for Sporting Clays and Home Protection but do not hunt. I don't see any problem owning them for reasons other than hunting.
  • I think it is a fine thing to have a gun, a car, electricity, kitchen mixers, dogs and all sorts of things that can cause injury if misused.
  • i dont understand it atall. sure in america every one has a gun so if you want to protect yourself you need one too. but more guns means more gun violence
  • I think owning something like an assault rifle (used in the recent Halloween trick-or-treater death) is absolutely ridiculous. Nobody should own one of those, I don't care if you are retired military or police. There's just no reason for it.
  • I think it's just fine..we have the right to own guns..so far..lets see what happens after the election.
  • I think only guns used for hunting or collecting should be allowed.Handguns are only used to kill another human being and not to kill an animal. The constitution says one can own a gun,but not specifically a hand gun.The law should stipulate only rifles or collectors guns be allowed.
  • I beleive that it is perfectly acceptable. The reason for this is Guns are tools plain and simple. They are not a physical manifestation of the devil as the media would have you beleive. Remember that guns dont kill people; people kill people.
  • No problem.
  • 2 words HOME DEFENSE
  • It's a must have for every free person. Buy as many as you can get, store up ammo, food and water filtration/storage, survival equipment and the like. You never know when society will go rotten and change from easy to impossible.
  • It bothers me. You never know when a gun-grandisher is going to lose the plot over something trifling and do something that could harm another.
  • dont bother me a bit there are many thing guns are good for. some buy them cheap and resell for profit shooting at a range, PROTECTION
  • I believe as in the second commandment it is our right. With all the violence now and days i think everyone should carry a counseled weapon.
  • cant stop them but i wouldnt own one
  • 6-19-2017 You need to own a gun just because your government wants you to be totally helpless. Cops exist to enforce the will of the legislature, and they carry guns. What other examples do you need?
  • I was born in Japan where people cannot legally own guns. My husband was from the USA where owning guns is a Constitutional right. He convinced me that he was right.
  • People collect all kinds of things they cant use - e.g. Stamps
  • i think this world needs to get rid of guns altogether
  • i think guns should be destroyed altogether
  • They have a right to protect themselves. But I would hope they educate themselves on the safety issues involved and get regular practice.
  • Consider those people gun collectors. Whether guns are sacred objects to them or perhaps just emblems, we all have something productive or strange to collect. Take it from Hector the Collector to say the least.
  • I don't care what people think about me having guns. And I don't care about anybody else's guns. Or lack thereof.
  • It's fine with me, Guns are the best means pf self-defense!.
  • Target practice, or skeet shooting?
  • i think they should do away with guns altogether

I strongly disagree. They're our best means of self-defense.
  • I've owned lots of guns, and we have a constitutional right to own them in the USA. Some are for hunting, and some are for protection.
  • I think its okay for people to own guns as long as they passed the background check and they aren't semi-automatic or automatic rifles. Those weapons should only be for the US military,
  • That depends on how they ARE using them. As long as they are using them responsibly and legally, it's OK.
  • Laws are effective only when they are enforced. If criminals aren't held accountable, tying the hands of honest citizens so they can't protect themselves is commensurate to lining them up for execution. Contrary to what most people interpret from the 2nd amendment, not every US citizen has the right to bear arms. The keyword that is never considered is "responsible". If just this word was added to the Bill of Rights (it applies to all of the rights listed), gun laws would be more effective. Prison inmates cannot own guns and neither can patients in a mental institution. There needs to be strict gun laws to filter people out who, for some legal reason or another, do not qualify to own a gun as well as to provide strict penalties for gun owners who do not secure their guns properly. "Guns don't kill people - people kill people". This quote is too often overlooked since knives kill people as well - but no one blames it on the knife.
  • Don't care as long as they shoot people that deserve it. What about farmers when they shoot the whole herd ever done that?
