  • Almond or coconut oil is good for dry skin...hope this helps.
  • i hope you are not allergic to Johnson and Johnson's Extensive care because it always works for me.
  • I use extra virgin olive oil. I also heard sesame oil is good. Cosmetics have additives, but cooking oil doesn't.
  • Vaseline petroleum jelly is supposed to be a good moisturizer. Depending on where you'll be using it on your body, though, bedtime application might be the best.
  • There are many herbs and spices that cause slight physiological changes ... try making some changes to your diet ... for example, eating hot peppers from a desert climate will cause your body to shed heat and will produce an oily sweat that will lubricate your skin from the inside naturally ... jungle peppers will also make you shed heat, but will cause a watery sweat. "Seasoning your food is not the same as flavouring your food."
  • Have you tried regular vaseline? I have dry hands and it works for me, but I don't like slippery fingers. There's also Burts Bees lotion. I think it's all natural.
  • 1/2 cocoa butter 2 tablespoons of beeswax (grated) 2 teaspoons of distilled water 3 tablespoon of sesame oil 2 tablespoon of coconut oil 1 tablespoon of olive oil ..melt the beeswax throw in the other stuff mix it let it cool off or you will burn off some skin..lol then put it on.. :)
  • My question to you is do you have eczema? Whether you do or don't you should try taking vitamins that good for maintaining healthy skin like Flax seed oil or Vitamin E all of which you can get at your local Wal-mart in the Pharmacy area!

  • Try taking organic Flaxseed oil. Salmolinic is good too.(spelling?) You probably need more Vitamin E.
  • I know I'm allergic to sun screen with palm oil. Sorry, I don't have a home remedy.
  • Baby oil?
  • I use almond oil or apricot oil, every day! Everyone compliments my skin. Watch it when you apply though, don't get it on the outside of your clothes! But if you apply it a little heavier for certain occasions, the light bounces off of it and makes stretch marks etc. a lot less noticeable. Some of my friends have started using it too! Remember, your skin is the largest organ (so I've heard! lol) and whatever you put on it gets absorbed by your body. I do not like commercial lotions because of the chemicals in them and I DO have allergic reactions as well. Good luck!
  • do a salt scrub it works so good. just get a wash cloth and put warm water on it and get the table salt and pour some on the cloth and scrub!!!!!!!!
  • Try drinking more water. Often when you are not properly hydrated your skin becomes dry.
  • hi, i'm allergic to any lotion i've ever used with perfumes added, however there are probably other things in there i could be having a reaction to as well. one thing i've had success with is cheaper face creams without fragrance added; even collagen face cream from the dollar store is better than most hand and body lotions i've tried. also, you might have a problem with your thyroid and/or matabolizing Vit. A. i have both those issues and have found vit.A from lemon grass works much better than those in most multi-vitamins. another idea i've heard lately is adding vit. c crystals to your bath water however i haven't had a chance to try it. swanson vitamins sells canisters of it at a very good price. gl
  • See if you can find something called "Bag Balm." It works for me.
  • It sounds to me like you could use a good naturopath or similarly educated natural physician. You need nutritional support and to detox, as well as a diet and lifestyle that would support you while you get healthy. I've been in your shoes, and I've found that it's possible to heal in this area, but it will not happen overnight. It's taken me a couple of years to really begin to see some results, but it's so worth it!
  • Vitamin E oil! Vitamin E is the healing vitamin. Its good for getting rid of rashes and pox scars, it also works wonders on dry skin. Be careful when applying it to the face though as too much of it can make your face a bit greasy. Don't go overboard!
  • hello get a large aloe vera leaf in the supermarket. cut a piece off legnthwise, then squeeze the goo inside onto your dry skin, spread it around evenly, keep doing this for a few weeks and youll be surprised what this stuff does,it healed my bedridden moms bedsores!
  • Have you ever tried Cetaphil? You can go to your Dermotologist and they will almost all carry some sort of private skin care line that is somewhat more expensive than say Walgreens, but they are wonderful products made especially for problem and or sensitive skin. Skinceuticals is one that is fabulous!
  • I really like walnut oil for dry skin. It is inexpensive and has no scent. It is very light, so it does not feel sticky on the skin as olive oil tends to. You can get it in the cooking oil section at your local health food store for about $5 for 16 ounces. Here is an article I wrote about natural DIY beauty products that use natural oils as base ingredients: http://hubpages.com/hub/DIYNaturalBeauty I hope it is helpful to you! :) Suzanne
  • Olive oil helps, but I don't really like the feel.
  • Lotion. Sometimes I use club soda.

  • A quick remedy for dry hands or feet is to use regular petroleum jelly (Vaseline or one even from the dollar store) with cotton gloves or socks. Just prior to going to sleep, rub it in and put on the gloves and/or socks. You'll be surprised what an improvement you'll wake up to.
  • Massage your skin with olive oil or coconut oil before going to bath. Bath in cool or lukewarm water as hot water draws out natural oil and will dry your skin further. Oil massage is very effective in case of dry skin. For more natural tips or home remedies for dry skin ,refer http://healthbeautytips.net/dryskin.htm
  • I'm new to AB. It seems I answered this question already, putting in how to make a lotion that fits your particular needs, but I can't find it. Perhaps you can find it. Anyway, just because you eat well, it's helpful to remember that in this modern world, we live in a toxic soup of chemicals. These chemicals settle in our bodies in various places. Some are chemically so close to estrogen that our bodies actually seem to think it is estrogen. I have problems that way, so I am always looking for ways to eliminate these phytotoxins (estrogen-like compounds from food sources such as soy) and xeno-toxins (estrogen like compunds from chemicals emitted from plastics, and found in cosmetics, perfumes, and many other sources). That may be more information than you wanted to know, but I said all that to help you understand how this works. The skin is the largest organ of elimination in the body. It's also very porous. We tend to not think of it that way, but it is true. If you break out everytime you put on a lotion, it might well be because your body has had too much exposure to these chemicals, which also happen to be ingredients in your lotions. In general, when you develop an allergy to something as an adult, you remain sensitive to that for the rest of your life, whereas we often outgrow childhood allergies. Let me know what you think. Blessings!

  • You could perhaps try olive oil or coconut oil or almond oil. Ask at a health shop -- they should have something to help. I am also allergic to the chemicals and perfume in all lotions, makeup, shampoos, etc. In SA, we get something called aqueous cream and aqueous lotion, which works well for me. Also 80% less expensive than all the usual stuff.

  • You need to see a dermatologist to figure out what you're reacting to or whether you have a chronic skin condition. You shouldn't just take advice from amateur strangers online.
  • Take a long bath 30 minutes to an hour. This sounds kind of weird but it makes my skin not dry.
  • you just have to keep trying until you find one that works on your skin. try the new CBD lotions.
