The Easter season is very short, compared to Christmas. Manufactures do not want to invest serious money into easter baskets. It would not be cost effective. In other words, they want to sell them all. So, a cheap or middle of the road easter basket has the best selling value and 85% are sold. The leftovers usually sell for 1/2 price. Not to mention, most baskets are made either in china or some other foreign country. For a high-end , designer easter basket, you probably will have to buy the ingredients separately and pay someone to design it. Why bother? go like everyone else, to walmart, pay $20 and be happy. After the candy is gone, all you have is green grass.
