The Green Mile book series, and the movie as well.
-
"Stand by Me."
-
I like the gunslinger series best.
-
I'm still partial to "The Stand". It was one of the first HUGE volumes (of fiction) that I ever undertook reading and even now, when my sister or I sneeze, one or the other of us will turn to the sneezer and simply smile and say "remember The Stand?" because that was how it all started.
-
Shawshank Redemption has not been mentioned yet.
-
The Shining and Christine were two of my favorites, however I love Stephen King and just about everything he's ever done.
-
Hard to choose, but among them (aside from those already mentioned) would be The Talsiman (co-written with Peter Straub) and Lisey's Story, his new work. I also really liked his first collection of short stories under the title Graveyard Shift.
-
The Dead Zone. I really enjoyed the premise and characters.
-
Hearts in Atlantis. Especially the second portion of the book. The actual story entitled Hearts in Atlantis. I would like to see it made into a movie, but I don't know what they would call it now.
-
I definitely haven't read anything close to his entire repetoire, but for me, it either has to be Cujo (the book, I've never seen the movie), the novella The Langoliers, or the novella Secret Window, Secret Garden.
-
My favorite S.K. books by far are the Dark Tower series
-
All of them.

-
Needful Things.
-
book wise i would say all of his early stuff from 70's and 80's. after that he gets a bit repeative with the alien theme (example being the things underground taking over that we can't see . . . tommyknockers, desperation, insomnia and then sort of in From a buick 8 with the whole alien thing.) Movie wise the same, hollywood has hacked up some pretty good stories of his. Stand by me, Misery, Green Mile and Christine weren't too bad, Carrie and Shining as well.
-
The Shining. :)
-
My favorite Stephen King book is "IT". I have read that book so many times, I had to get a new book. As far as the movie goes (IT)I really liked the movie myself, I even bought a copy. The only thing I have to say is that the movie didn't follow the book (IT) very well. Some items were change from the book to the movie. But all in all, I loved both the movie and the book! I give it a big thumbs up for both of them. Grandma591

I've enjoyed many of his books. The early stories in "Night Shift" are my favorites (I think 'Sometimes They Come Back' is as good as King gets), but I also love "Carrie", "'Salem's Lot", "Pet Sematary", and "Thinner". The question of which film based on a Stephen King novel is my favorite is a bit trickier to answer. For some reason, his work is difficult to translate to the screen. Even after thirty-two years, I think "Carrie" is by far the best King-based movie. "The Shining" was good, but Stanley Kubrick wasn't particularly faithful to the source material.

Salem's Lot
