  • As long as the hamster is in a cage located in a high area, they should be safe enough and not get attacked by the cat. If you plan to have a pet hamster let loose around the room, I would advise you to have the hamster in a separate room from the cat just in case. You would have to be keeping a good eye on things between the hamster and the cat. I’m not sure if it’s wise to have both pets let loose around the house. If the hamster gets killed by the cat, the hamster’s death might be on your conscience but we don’t want that to happen, do we?
  • Not very wise. Cats are predators. A cat will eat a hamster out of its survival instinct. This is based on their ancestry as wild predators.
