Who else here thinks that Quora is a cult compared to Answerbag?
I'm not trying to be funny here, but if you don't give Quora enough of your personal information, then their filters automatically block you from having an account on their website. I tried to fix that, by going back and adding more information to reactivate my Quora account, and nothing happened. Wouldn't you say that's cultish since there are members on their site that don't even use their real names?

No, I don't agree. They haven't demanded a lot of personal information from me, and they haven't gotten much, but my account is fully active. Moreover, I wouldn't say that asking for it would qualify Quora for "cult" status anyway, though I have to point out that if you added more and that did not reactivate your account, then perhaps insufficient information isn't the problem. Why don't you contact them and ask instead of making assumptions about what the problem is? I don't think, by the way, that you really grasp what a "cult" is.

Which dictionary, dear? No cult venerates its followers. Cults venerate gods and sometimes their leaders. Provide proper citations. If you don't know what they are, go back to school. And learn the difference between "its" and "it's". By the way, I'm a college professor, one of whose fields of specialization is the history of religion. I DO know what I'm talking about.
