Greed is a selfish desire. Its usually a bad thing, but you can be greedy to succeed so you can help others. And you can be greedy to learn which is not necessarily a bad thing.

It's good to make something of your life, but bad if you get carried away. The Bible cautions that self-interest can devolve into the sin of selfishness and greed. Luke 12:15 "And He said to them, Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."
