Is being a lawyer a stressful job?

I'm friends with a family of lawyers. I've never heard any of them complain of this in the 8 years I've known them, but I'll ask in the morning it's almost midnight here now.

It depends on their cases but it certainly can be stressful. It is my experience that virtually all jobs with fairly high incomes are almost all are somewhere between quite stressful and extremely stressful..

The Stress. Deadlines, billing pressures, client demands, long hours, changing laws, and other demands all combine to make the practice of law one of the most stressful jobs out there. Throw in rising business pressures, evolving legal technologies, and climbing law school debt and it's no wonder lawyers are stressed.

Contract Law may not be as stressful as a Matrimonial or Criminal lawyer is.
