Norovirus is a contagious virus and may spread in various ways. This virus is present in the stool and vomit of an infected person. If a person drinks or eats something prepared by an infected person who has not washed his hands effectively, or touch surfaces infected with a Norovirus and subsequently using unwashed hands for eating, the virus can easily infect the person. Moreover, having a direct contact with an infected person can also lead to the transmission of the virus. The symptoms of Norovirus are visible within 24 to 48 hours after the virus enters the body. At times it may start showing effects even after 12 hours. The infection may take 1 to 2 days to disappear. Some of the common symptoms of Norovirus are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and fever. Other minor symptoms include headache, chills and muscle aches. Infected persons can avoid spreading Norovirus by maintaining distance from people till 72 hours after the virus goes away. You must ensure that you wash your hands before eating and serving food to others.

i ws told that when you get the norovirus you are contagious for about a week, even when the symptoms go away. what happened to me was i woke up and vomited, matter of fact i vomited a bunch of times, passed out on the bathroom floor to find out that i when i would vomit i also had diarreah(<sp? sorry). and you can become very dehydrated because its hard to keep anything down. so you can end up getting even more sick if you dont try to drink water or something but it you search online just go to webmd you'll probably find what is easy on the stomach and what isn't.
