what are the chances of a colostomy being cancer?
I have to have one done cause of a home kit i did turned out positive so i wondered about what the chances were. waiting for them to call me back to set it up

I think you have your terms confused. co-los-to-my noun a surgical operation in which a piece of the colon is diverted to an artificial opening in the abdominal wall so as to bypass a damaged part of the colon. co-lon-os-co-py noun a procedure in which a flexible fiber-optic instrument is inserted through the anus in order to examine the colon. I think you're having a colonoscopy. I couldn't find how often a colonoscopy finds cancer but I did find that it's very good at finding it if it's there. If I were you I wouldn't worry about it unless and until they find something. When is your procedure?
