  • Try the new spray and wash duo. Apply the liquid on the stain, then soak your clothes for about 20 mins or more. Then wash. That should do the trick. :)
  • I struggled with this for several years going to countless websites that offered the same crappy advice until I found a solution, a real solution. Here are the keys: 1.) Use only Axe Dry anti-persperiant deodorant (stick deodorant in a black case). They have several scents. 2.) Put on only a small amount each day. That deodorant has such a strong smell, that a small amount works perfect. Don't cake it on, use only 3 light rubs max. THREE LIGHT RUBS MAX (down, up, down). 3.) Keep some paper towels handy or use toilet paper, and wipe your armpit in one or two big wipes after applying the deororant. This gets off most of the white residue left behind by stick deodorants. Then, you will have nice smelling armpits, sweat prevention, and no nasty yellow pit-stains. And, I'm convinced that there is no way to remove pit stains once they have happened to a white shirt.
  • There is an answer! I read on a message board that oxi clean does the trick and it does. I was doubtful, but figured buying a small tub and trying it was better than buying all new white shirts. I did the stain treatment - 1 scoop with 16 oz of water - and dunked the armpits of my white shirts in the mixture. I let the clothes sit for 10 min. I included 4 scoops of oxi clean in with my detergent also. I washed over 10 shirts and all but 3 or 4 came out perfectly white - the stains were completely gone. I bought the largest tub of oxi clean I could find the next day and will continue to pre-treat and add scoops every time I wash my whites. It's worth a try (I'm a believer now!)
  • Make a paste of 1 tablespoon hydrogen peroxide, 1 tablespoon baking soda, and 1 tablespoon water. Put this paste onto the stain, and lightly scrub it with a toothbrush or rub the clothing together. Let sit for about an hour, them wash in regular laundry detergent in COLD. Do not put in dryer- as this will set the stains. If it's still there (and it should not be) repeat the process, but use a higher proportion hydrogen peroxide, let sit for an hour and wash on HOT with regular detergent. *NEVER, EVER put chlorine bleach on underarm stains. It makes the stain DARKER* p.s. Hydrogen peroxide does what oxyclean does; only much faster and way, way better!
  • 1-24-2017 If the stain has been through a dryer, you probably will never get rid of it. Use a dish washing liquid made for grease, such as Dawn. Apply it with a toothbrush. When the stain seems to have given up, wash normally. Toothbrushes cost about a dime apiece at the dollar store, so you should have a plenty of them specifically for cleaning things.
