Hmmm....I've went fishing...so yes I've killed a fish..haha
-
Every non vegetarian has.
-
no, I can honestly say that I haven't. I have sometimes wondered if I'd become a vegetarian if i was forced to slaughter my own food. Good question.
-
No. Some things are best left to professionals and I don't like Lobster, the one thing I can think of that is routinely bought live and killed at home as part of the cooking process.
-
no. I will not ever do that.
-
I love to fish and have eaten the ones I caught..so, yes. But most of the time I catch them and let them go because I really don't like killing them.
-
Yup. Fish and rabbits. Never took a deer since it would be far too much for me to eat in a reasonable amount of time and I don't have a deep freeze. Not to mention that public hunting lands in my state are pretty much non-existant, making deer hunting a VERY expensive proposition. Paying $1,000-$5,000 per rifle on a leased property some 200+ miles away from the house plus the costs of having the deer butchered makes venison more expensive than prime rib on a per pound basis. I think that it behooves everyone to hunt and eat their kill at least once in their lives so they can appreciate what it takes to get your own food and what it takes to put that hamburger on your plate. From a survival point of view, it's good to know basic hunting and butchering skills so that you can eat should there be a problem with our elaborate and oh-so-fragile food delivery system.
-
No i couldnt do that,i dont eat a great deal of meat anyway!!
-
No, but I have eaten wild game and domestic animals that others have killed. I don't care for game meat; however, I did eat some frog legs yesterday.
-
YES, I KILLED MY FIRST DEER THIS SEASON,THERES NOTHING LIKE GOING TO THE WOODS BEFORE DAYLIGHT,SEEING THAT BUCK, GETTING A GOOD SHOT,TAKE BACK TO BEER CAMP, CLEAN,AND COOK OVER CAMP FIRE,ALSO WILD TURKEY IS VERY TASTEY.DONT KNOCK IT TILL YOU TRY IT. (LADY HUNTER IN OKLAHOMA)
-
No, but my husband hunts pheasants and I clean and cook them. Delicious!
-
Yup! fish, ram, and a countless supply of dove and quail.
-
Hundreds of times. That is the only reason I would kill an animal. Wild game is much better than any processed meat. And I believe, much healthier. But if you don't know how to kill clean, and how to take care of the kill properly, don't do it unless you are sure that you can. If you don't know how, you will regret it.
-
Never. And don't think, that I'm able to do this
-
Yes. I have killed and eaten both wild animals while hunting as well as domestic animals that were raised to be food.
-
Deer and Fish.
-
Yes, I've helped my husband on butcheriung day for rabbits and chickens, even sheep and pigs. We feel it's the honorable thing to do to take on this difficult task ourselves and do the killing and butchering as humanely and cleanly as possible. We keep our animals as calm and loved as we can, free range and having a good life before they end up dinner. And we use as much of the animal as possible for us. Its a hard job to do, emotionaly and physically but we appreciate the meat so much more knowing where and how we got it. We also eat less of it so there isn't much waste or surplus, only what we are up to doing. We can't kill just anything. My husband loves ducks and geese too much that we just can't do it. We killed one duck and realized we couldn't go thru it, it was just to painful. SO we kep the others or sold them to other people that may not feel this way. He also hunts for food, doesn't look for antler size or whatever, just a good supply of food for our table. We alwasy giver thanks, too for being able to do this and for the animals' life.
-
No I have never killed an animal although I love to target and Clay Pigeon shoot. My sister and her husband get a licence for a deer each season
-
deer, pig, chicken, fish - there is nothing to compare with fresh meat you have seen to yourself!
-
That is sick and wrong, y would any one do that...
-
Fish only.
-
i tryed to kill a moth once, but i couldn't even do that.
-
No, I hire a butcher as hitman.
-
If fish count, sure. If you are talking about shooting animals like deer or squirrel, no.
-
yeah... Fish and grouse... I camped and took a couple survival classes.
-
I go deep sea fishing off of Cape Cod and get some very nice bluefish and the occassional saltwater bass very delicious.
-
1000's.
-
I didn't kill it on purpose, but I did run over a squirrel, I felt bad , all the kids were in the car. So I was doing what I thought I should do, I told them if you kill an animal you it it. Only reason to kill an animal. We took it home, and one of my sons helped me skin and clean it, soaked in salt water, all that stuff. The next day, I fried it up, we tried to eat it.. but we all got sad.
-
No, but I love deer meat and would love to try elk and moose and quail and all of that. I just can't do it myself.
-
Sure, fish, rabbit, helped relatives long ago with hogs, cows, chickens. We ate them. I don't agree with just for the hell of it. But if yourgoing to eat it, sure.
-
I have never hunted my own meal. But I have eaten venison that was hunted by someone I know.
-
I've eaten plenty of seafood that I have killed - fish, crayfish, shellfish etc, and trout, but no game. I have eaten game killed and processed by friends and family in my presence, though.
-
Fish, crabs, clams, scallops. The only reason I would kill something is to eat it.
-
Every duck season! And I went fishing about 2 weeks ago.
-
No and I don't think that I ever could either. In my opinion people who say that they do it to eat, are full of it. They could go to a grocery store and buy food. They just like the thrill of taking a living things life away.
-
No and i don't think ill ever will i just cant stand seein g a creature die. I ts so sad so i don't think i can kill an animal.
-
er... no. i accidentally starved a rabbit once... i didnt eat it though. does that make me evil?
-
Yes Many times
-
Yes. Only fish and marine invertebrates though, no mammals.
-

rabbits and squirrels, ground hogs
-
Yes, but Donald Rumsfeld was a bit chewy.
-
No.
-
NO!!!!! thats absoluetly horendous. im a strict vegetarian and i completely beive there are other forms of nutriton rather than excesive consumption of meat. I understand a little for protein and to maintain an average animal population but our society is outta control
-
yes, squirrels, dove, fish, a rabbit, a chicken, thats all i can recall. i have also killed lots of birds and squirrel around my neighborhood that i havent eaten.
-
nope. And I never will.
-
No I have not. I do not plan to either.
-
Yes; that's the only acceptable reason for me. I don't believe in killing what you don't need and thoughtfully using what you do.
-
No, I'm a vegan. There is absolutely no point what so ever to kill any animal because it's not necessary, and I don't get my jollies off of it. And I can almost promise a meat eater will down rate me, but know what? Killing for "food" is just an excuse to kill without being punished for it, and I don't get off to that.
-
Yes. Rabbit, pheasant, and fish.
-
Yes. Rabbit, pheasant, and fish. Oh, and I won't kill anything that I won't eat. I'm not a trophy hunter.
-
We had a cow break its leg once when dad was out of town on business, I had to shoot it...we had it butchered so..I guess that would be yes
-
Yes, some of the best times and best food I've ever had. From East Coast Blue Crabs and Shrimp to Whitetails, goose and pheasant. Some of the best meals ever!!!!
-
Many - Deer, Rabbit, Fish, Quail, Duck, Pheasant, Squirrel...I'm sure there are more. It's only right to eat what you kill.
-
Of COURSE not. Never. Never...
-
No , I like to shoot targets but I could not shoot at an animal. My sister and her husband get a deer license each year.
-
nope, that sort of thing just doesn't give me joy
-

-
Yes...I have a freezer full of wild game as we speak.

-
I hunt but i don't eat the animals but i would if new how to cook them.
-
No..I haven't tried..And I don't have plans..^_^
-
YES!!! You never know what you are buying from a meat dept. And it always tastes much better when it's range fed and fresh. but never ever waste any of it!!!!!
-
My husband kills and eats rabbits, squirrels, duck, phesant, geese, quail, deer, young ground hog, turkey...fish.. I do not eat any of this nor do I cook it, but my husband loves it
-
Yes. I've butchered chickens, slaughtered hogs, fished and hunted. Everything that is living eats something else that is or was living and the food chain is a complete circle. It will be our turn one day to provide nourishment for other life.
-
Yes, mostly game birds and rabbits, occas squirrel, and fish. So I have dressed and cooked these animals. It is a good skill to have unless a confirmed vegitarian, although most meat eating friends would probably disagree. However if you know a little about dressing a chicken, you can buy whole birds and know what to do, even though you may never hunt. Twice I killed an animal and didn't eat them and felt bad about it. Once a snapper turtle. Smelled aweful as I cooked it so I threw it away. Another was a rabbit whose heart was full of worms. Just threw it away.
-
fire up the grill her comes dinner
-
Deer and of course fish. I would not take an animal only as a trophy, also most hunters I know would not.
-
Elk deer mtn lion bear fish buffalo pronghorn pig steer turkeys chicken
-
I lived totaly off the land, like a modern day mountain man, during the late 1980s. I still get most of my meat from lakes and fields and forests. It's honest. And the truth is, no matter what your diet, to substain life, something has to die.
-
yuppers. Do it every year. Got to make ends meet. If my state wasn't so economically downturned and the store bought meat was a little cleaner who knows what would happen to my hunting days. deer tastes good. moose tastes good. bear is questionable as bacon, but I've heard it's wicked good as a meatloaf. partridge, cleanest tasting chicken type meat you'll ever find. I don't fish anymore as the in state warnings on fish consumption has turned me off to that. Used to eat tons of white perch though. Call it a staple food of my youth.
-
Deer, fish, chicken (my Dad did the honors)
-
No!
-
YES! I like the taste of game meat!
-
thats one reason why i go hunting and fishing is to keep food in the freezer so i dont have to go to the store.
-
Several times.
-
Oh yea... All the time. I've shot, caught, gigged, and arrowed all types of game. It's more tasty killing your own food than buying the crap available in a store.
-
Nope, but I have eaten meat that other people have personally hunted.
-
Yes. Fishing is one of my favorite sports. Still, I mostly release the catches. Only keeps what's essentially too attractive *smile* to release: a nice big fish!
-
Yes. As a farmer and a hunter I have personally killed and eaten hog, cattle, chicken, turkey, duck, pheasant, rabbit, whitetail, raccoon, quail, and mule deer. All tasty in their own ways.
-
Most are taught at a young age to never kill an animal without the intent of consuming the kill.
-
Not with my own hands I have not, but have been involved in hunting deer, elk, duck and rabbit. Fish I have killed myself after catching them. Plus growing up on a farm it was the only way we got our beef and pork as well as chickens. You know I don't wish to offend anyone but people who talk of being cruel to animals and not killing them should think of that the next time they go to the store and get some hamburger and porkchops. Oh yes and how about the bacon and eggs for breakfast. Eating eggs is killing for there was the possibility of life................
-
No but i am learning to hunt as part of my " go live in the wild" thing so i intend to do just that
-
Shoot kangaroo's and rabbits, goats to eat,the roo is nice to eat, goat is not to bad as well
-
Nope. Other people are paid to do it for me.
-
I caught and ate a Coho salmon once.
-
I shot a bird at the request of a friend with his gun and for his consumption. If I hadn't done it, he would have anyway.
