Because perception of ghosts is most likely something that happens inside the mind of the person seeing the ghost. It's quite unlikely that there actually are ghosts, hence the way you perceive your environment decides whether you see something you perceive as a ghost.

Actually, there are people "gifted" with limited psychic abilities called "medium". These are as follows (explained from my view). 1. Sense ghosts and communicate with them if needed. (They can also sense negative atmospheres or energies emitted within certain areas.) 2. Heal people via psychic ways in case the victims have felt negative energy, which is a result of haunts. 3. Aid ghosts in travelling to the "other side" as i would say. 4. Drive away ghosts when the ghost(s) have been bothering the living, say, if the ghost(s) have been haunting, the medium(s) can drive away ghosts so they no longer bother the eventual victims. I'm not sure though if mediums are able to set up "protective barriers" around certain areas to keep ghosts away.

That i find is kind of a difficult question to answer I know there is certian people who are gifted and have the ability to see these type of things I myself belive ghosts and spirts present themselfs in various ways I dont think its just an imagination or a thing that is just in the head I have had experience ith ghosts on a number of occasions already but it really depends what i have noticed is that if people die that are unsetled or they didnt have peace before they died tend to come back more often than people that die in peace do. i had 2 uncles one was an alocholic one was very content with his life and he knew he was going to die from a cancer he had while the other did not. the uncle that was the alocholic came back and goes into the alochol cupboard my Aunt has looking for drinks and sends bottles flying to floor. my other uncle was at peace with his life he fulfilled his dreams and was happily married and retired after he passed away did not come back i believe he made it to the other side cause his soul was at peace he was happy and did not find the need to return maybe he did return but not in a disturbing fashion as my other uncle did but hard to answer the questions direcly why some people see things and why ome people dont

Its a similar thing. A person who is very superstitious, or of a highly nervous disposition- might see a shadow, or a flicker of a curtain caused by wind and assume they have seen "a ghost". By the same principle, someone who is of a highly skeptical nature might see a real ghost and rationalise it to themselves- telling themselves it was a trick of the light. People who claim to see and sense spirits and ghosts; while, others clearly cannot for a variety of reasons. One may be because they have been dabbling in witchcraft, which opens a door to demons and the devil. Another reason that some people claim to see ghosts because they simply be hallucinating. Sometimes if you're asleep and wake up, then you'll see things, or while you're wide awake your eyes can play tricks on you (i.e., illusions), which make you think you're seeing something that isn't there. Finally, it can be argued that some people are simply lying, in order, to gain attention, fame, and/or money. I hope this helps to answer your question!

Some people are more sensitive to spirits than others. There are thoes who cant feel them, people who can slightly feel them, ones who can feel them more, and people like me who can feel them so strongly that we can fell them like being hit by a car. If they are mad, they show it and get headaches etc.

I wish I knew the answer. My parents (who are deceased) claimed they saw an old woman run past them in the kitchen when they moved into their first house, which was a colonial with a history dating back to the 1700's. They believed she was a ghost. My oldest son very calmly said he saw an aunt that passed away years ago walk past my kitchen. This was unrelated; he never knew what my parents said. This son is very down to earth, a business man and not given to strange beliefs. It really caught me by surprise because he was serious and when I said I thought he was joking he said, "don't you think we can co-exist?" I have been wondering about him ever since. Does anyone have any thoughts? He is someone with an otherwise totally practical and pragmatic view of life.

In my family, who believe in spirits, those who are spiritually sensitive can more easily see and be influenced by spirits than those who are stronger to spirits. Also, it's a matter of whether you are open-minded or if you refuse to believe in unexplained things like ghosts. A lot of people say that ghosts are just superstition and supernaturality.

i dont think it is a gift to see ghosts and i wish i never saw any...the experiece was scary..i couldnt move or talk and i fell into a deep sleep for ages after...plus its hard 2 tell people you have sighted such things as they probably wont believe you..

I have never dabbled in witch craft, am not terribly religious but I do believe in GOD, do not hallucinate, have never done recreational or legal mind changing drugs, and I DO NOT LIE. I am about as far from being highly nervous or superstitious as a person can get. If anything, I am too laid back. I have seen and felt ghosts/spirits since I was a little girl - So did my mother, grandmother, and great grandmothers back as far as I know, also several others in my family. My sister and brother do not. We are almost all highly educated and intelligent - several teachers, lawyers, doctors, & professors. We also have 2 US Marshalls, a probation officer, 1 FBI Investigator 2 Professional Fire Fighters, & 3 Ministers in the family, So would you like to explain that away, too.

ghosts dont like to stay in the room with me unless invited. apparently i have a very powerful presence so im told.

i know that i can sense things (whether they are "spirits" or energies) but my mom and brother say that they see things (entities). I've never seen anything supernatural. that wasn't really a good anwser but an example, i guess? i just wonder why i don't experience what they do even though i'm in the same enviorment.

Because those that see them really, really want to. They aren't there, but eyewitness accounts are the least reliable type of evidence. People are good at seeing and remembering things incorrectly.

I think that most of the time, people are spooked and assume ghosts are there, and they believe it so strongly that they trick their minds and their eyes into thinking that they see one sometimes. All "ghosts" are either demons or angels, and neither can be seen, or at least not in their supernatural forms now.

Spirits are very real. And whether you like it or not, any of you who say they aren't are fakes. Oh and if any of you find your answers have been flagged, it was me. GET OVER IT.

For some it can be learned to an extent. But for thoughs who are born with this ability, it varys depending on there development and there limmits. I have a brothe who feels (literaly) them and can see them but can not sence, smell(yes some ghosts express there presence through smell), or hear them. My mother can sence them. My older sister can see them. I unfortunatly have been curesed with the ability to experience it all. My youngest sister who was not born with this ability has been trying to learn it (i don't know why) and can know sence them at times.

In our family, my mom, one of her daughters and 2 grandchild have this ability. All are calm, rational normal people. They never enjoy the experience when it happens and rarely share it as they know others may think them crazy. The fact they are proven right once a little research reveals it still doesn't give them comfort.

Some people can not handle the concept of death. So they pretend (thought they believe themselves) that they can sense people from the afterlife. Its no more ridiculous then believing in a religion.

I think that the spirits choose who they want to be seen by.You can say it's the lighting or wind which plays tricks on our minds but what if you see a complete person on in the middle of the street and then drive through them as if they were thin air?That's what happened to me.

I am convinced that I saw the ghost of a young girl yesterday, and this is why I am on the internet looking up information about ghosts. I'm almost sixteen, and have been told many times that I have an overactive imagination, but this is most definitely not something I imagined. I was walking down a lane with my dog when the dog started acting very strangely - jumping up and down and barking. I didn't think much of this as he is only a puppy and is very excitable, but then I looked up. Standing about five meters away from me was a young girl, about twelve or thirteen. I thought she was a real person until I saw her clothing. She was dressed in an old fashioned brown dress and a sort of hat or bonnet, and she looked positively miserable. Her left arm was outstretched and she looked as if she was running her hands over the bush beside her, but the leaves weren't moving. I stopped walking and I blinked, and she was gone. I don't know what to think... I'm very confused and upset, and I need to know why she showed herself to me. Is there a reason?

I'd really like to find that out. I am an empath. I don't see spirits necessarily (I've only seen one full-body apparition), but I do feel their emotions. It's the most bizarre thing, to have to ask yourself whether an emotion is mine or somebody else's.

I have experienced paranormal activity but, regrettably, have NOT seen a full torso apparition. It has EVERYTHING to do with your reception of their presence! Well if one is open minded and does not make excuses for natural sightings out of fear, one will see spirits. Spirits visit everyone, and every have there own personal spirits with them everyday. When you forget something and the answer just pops up like a light bulb went on, who do you think sent you the answer? your spirits. They remind, inform, heal, love you and are around you all the time. As far as ghosts, they are more rare to see. You would have to have a strong clairvoyant gift, which can be trained. Each of us have our own level of capability to see into the spirit world. Most of the population choose to ignore it, either because they are too creeped out, they don't want to believe it, or because their church says it's a sin.

Me and my dad are that way!I have never seen but I hear and "feel" them, I have times where I can be (for example) making a sandwhich and I can hear someone call my name. I have been woke out of a deep sleep from whispering going on around me (I have yet to figure out whats being said tho, trying to fine tune my hearing) I can sense their prescence, my friend has me go with her into every potiential house she rents, I warned her 1x and she ignored me and she quickly moved and never questioned me again. My Dad has dreams of various people approaching him with a message, it's unclear to him until he delivers it It's so unreal the reactions he gets when he says info that the ghost would be able to tell that person. I.E. He got a message from a friend of mine that had just died (Dad never met him) my friend told him he was sorry but Valentines Day was off. I got the call the next day he died in his sleep just a few days before we were to go to a V-Day dance together (something else Dad was unaware of) I think it has to do with being sensitive to things around you, I'm not quite sure how I started hearing and feeling. My grandpa was around for awhile after he died and I think he had something to do with it. I also choose to believe that there is more to things than what can be seen psyically. Open mindedness and a strong interest in others emotions may also play a part in it.

They are among us, but we can resist them by drawing close to God, strengthening our faith and praying often. Demons gravitate toward things that originate with THEIR God, so it is best to not have things in your possession that would attract evil spirits.

There is some evidence that magnetic fields and certain low and high frequency sounds can cause disorientation, but there has to be evidence of the source of these waves. Of course, carbon monoxide can cause disorientation too, so check that alarm battery.

Ther are no ghosts and spirits to be sensed. Some people have huge imaginations and believe normal things are ghosts.

The truth is that some people imagine they see such stuff, while others know better, Some of my relatives claimed to see ghost. I investigated and often discovered what they actually saw, and it was never ghost-spirits. For instance, my brother and I were at the home of my mother's older sister. About 2:30 A.M., he came to me and said a girl ghost was in his bedroom. I went to check alone, since he did not dare to join me. I saw what looked like a girl across the room from his bed with her feet about 15" above the floor and a halo of light around her head. Instead of running away yelling, "Ghost!", I walked over to it, and I saw that it was light from a car shining through a window below the bed onto wallpaper stained by a leaking roof, and her head was a scenic calendar. I can tell about other similar episodes.

Why are some allergic to pretty much everything, while most are not? Why can some walk a tightrope with ease, while most cannot? Why are some born geniuses, while most are average? Why are there children that can play a piano like a virtuoso, without any lessons, while most can't play one after years of lessons? What accounts for the prodigy? Luck of the draw? Karma? Genetics?
