I do a 'happy, smiley face' Works for me! :)
-
QG... it means quiet giggle... or you could use LQTM(laugh quietly to myself)
-
i do 'haaaaah!' or rofl! or bwaha! or teehee! or heeh! or :) or rawr! or i dunno. i dont have my list of answer in front of me. but i think i do end them all with "!" i wonder why. its not like i should all the time irl.. heeh!

I think lol is fine- - helps me know that someone is laughing and/or not angry. The printed word is open to all sorts of potential misinterpretations by the reader - - 'clues' like 'lol' help the reader decipher your meaning. Consider keeping it. And if you're just asking for variety within your terms, I'm of no help at all. :) +5

Way back in my days, when we had to hand write letters and mail them we never put smiley faces in or wrote lol at the end. We expressed our feelings the old fashioned way. With real words.

Simply leave it off. People have been writing forever without the texting jargan and abbreviations.
-
Depends on what you really want to say. "Stop it, don't look at me like that" could be SITDLMLTHat!" Have a great day" could be HVeAGrtDY.
-
How about "laugh out loud"? It pays respect to the entire word, not text messaging abbreviations which are done to save money. Try it, you'll like it! :)
-
I use :) a lot, myself. Lol drives me crazy when it's appended to regular sentences. I play World of Warcraft, so sometimes I'll deal with people who are like "Can you craft [x item]? lol" "i need to get mats lol" "im still in [city] lol" and I want to throttle them. WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHING AT? Perhaps :) angers them, for all I know. But if you're not actually laughing, you could try :), *smiles*, :D, whatever, if you're just afraid that your text isn't going across with enough happiness.

Did you know that always laughing at the end of making a comment or statement is often a gesture of feeling overly self conscious?? By laughing at the end you are trying to downplay your opinions and/or thoughts. Next time, boldly state your case/thoughts. And leave it up to others to lol!! :)

Gotcha! Beats the emotion or feeling with which something is said, at times. I prefer 'starring' the emotion I feel at that time, at least the closest. *smiles*

A period.
-
a face :) ;) :( =) ;P :0
-
I seem to overuse haha.
-
There's nothing wrong with "lol." But if you want something different then you could use a ":)" +5

i like putting something like lol, haha or a smily face of some variety on the end. with text it's so hard to tell tone of voice, so putting something on the end just helps the receiver to gauge the message a little more accurately :-)
-
I guess I'm old school how about only using some type of punctuation mark.
-
hahahahahahaha aaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaha
-
Well I find most people are NOT being truthful when they reply LOL - most people usually chuckle out loud. Let's start a COL movement!!!

GAC = Going Absolutely Crazy!

Foad? We used to use it years ago and it stands for F**k off and die. Probably best if you don't use that one really.
