Depends if you give them $1~$2 maybe but if you slip them a $10 or a $20 you definitely get a thank you & a smile !

Usually you pay credit or cash then leave before the waitress/waiter and the person sees the tip after your gone, but when presenting the bill the service person most always says something polite and the maitre d' always says thank you as we're leaving!

My daughter and son are in the food service industry and I am very conscious of the quality of service rendered, especially at those retuarants that take time to train their help. A tip is a compliment for service well done, unfortunately, some waitstaff have not been trained in how to recieve a compliment. And, clearly, some waitstaff should change careers yesterday! Bon apetit!

yes so I only tip well if someone goes above and beyond.....They usually aren't greatful unless they do
