I have to admit it is convenient, but I have a regular oven, a stove top, a toaster oven, a crock pot and an electric frying pan, so I will live.

No Way. It is a godsend when defrosting prior to cooking. That's how i use it mostly, not for frozen dinners and such.

Yes. The microwave does some things very well, but I don't absolutely need it.

A couple of years ago I would have said no, but actually, yes. I very rarely use it now, only occasionally for bacon, which I could do under the grill, so yes, I think I could :)

Of course. I mostly use it to reheat coffee... now mitts off the coffee maker!

Yes, quite easily. The only thing I use it for is defrosting and occasionally warming up food.

I grew up in the 70's before everyone had microwaves, and I survived then. I think I would survive now.
