i have felt this way and i haven't yet to give up. dont give up and keep trying
-
Yep, sure do. Very human emotion. First, know you're not alone. Lean on family and friends, share your thoughts here. Is something stressful or sad going on in your life right now? Then it would probably be a situational sadness that anyone would experience. If not? See a physician to make sure there is no medical reason for this. If it persists, you may want to pursue treatment for depression. Therapy and/or anti-depressants. There is no reason you have to live with this pain. All the very best to you.
-
I feel that way everyday. I just look at what I have and then look anywhere else I can look and realize I have it really good. Life is tough and you'll get fed shit sandwiches every now and then. But there will always be a sunrise and always be something better down the road. You get ying with yang. Just wait for tomorrow and see what you cna do to make it better.
-
Yes, I have. It really sucks, I know the feeling. Giving up can't be an option, you must never do that... start relying more in your family and friends...sharing stuff ...just to keep your mind off of it. Then try to find ur path of life ... Something that'll lead you on the opposite direction of giving up, something that will definatly make you never again think of giving up =) ... There's always something that makes us not giving up... The hard thing is to know what it is =)
-
I do a lot. I think – if I want to be a winner you must keep competing.
-
yes i feel that way, then i see my family and my cat and think i have a good life and i would not want to give it up.So you just keep on going and never give up. stay true to yourself,we are here for you.
-
I'm sorry you feel so bad. Sure, I feel that way sometimes. My life is the biggest pain in the a** you can imagine, and I have only myself to blame. Sometimes I can't fathom living any longer, but I sure as sugar don't want to die. I try not to think about it, if you want the truth. Instead, I try to get more sleep, take more vitamins, and go for walks. Usually, after a day or so of feeling like crap, I do feel better. It's hard, I know. Your son loves you, justme31. If I had a family, they would give me strength.
-
Giving up on what? NOTHING or NOBODY is worth that. Life is a GIFT! Appreciate IT!
-
sure I have felt this way. I get stubborn and refuse to give in...so far it has worked. There is no future in giving up.
-
Well... I suppose you've heard my speech before on this already, but the thing to do with resignation or despair is to allow yourself to have those feelings and thoughts, and do your best to be aware of the exact details... exactly what feelings, exactly what thoughts. The more you can just "tune" your awareness to what is actually going on within yourself, without judging it, resisting it, or clinging to it, the easier it is for the underlying issues to become clear. Usually when we get "stuck" like this in life, it's because there's something we're attached to which is no longer appropriate to our current stage of life -- an identity, some image of who we are, perhaps some circumstance which really no longer serves us but we're unwilling to let go of, etc. Awareness brings these things to the surface to be resolved. Most people just try to do something to make the pain go away, but that doesn't actually resolve the core issue(s).
-
Well it sounds like you are taking the words out of my mouth and i pretty much know what you are talking about.life sukcs, finding a job sucks, and everything just sucks.I know you love to drink and same here ,but im sure its not helping and it makes things worse.I am not 1 to talk cause i love beer but i think it would help a bit so it doesnt make you feel so down.if you need someone to talk to ill be here and leave a email.
-
Yes after losing somebody you love very much, and don't know how to go on without them, Can leave you feeling that way. I just try to fight the feeling of not wanting to go on, and take it day by day hoping each will be better. Hang in there!
-
I feel like giving up. I've felt this way for about 15 years but,so far, I haven't given up and I hope I never do, because that would be admitting that they had beaten me.
-
Nah, giving up is for quitters...But giving up on smoking and stuff like that is always good...Tho, i mostly feel like givin up on girls (not meaning that i wanna go for guys now)...just saying i might be wastin my time on some
-
I do. I started feeling this way when Jay died and as of right now I'm just living day to day for my children. If it wasn't for them I don't know what I'd do.

It happens sometimes these days with all the negative events lately and the amount of apathy and ignorance in the world. I keep some motivational booklets handy at my bedside and the endtable in my living room...and I read a page or two when I need a quick boost. I remind myself to stay in the present moment and accept other people and myself as we all are. (This sometimes takes extra effort, I admit.) I practice regular, formal meditation as a reality-check. This is a habit, so this it turns out that I have "built -in" an automatic safety valve. These meditations include a type called "Tonglen" which basically means putting other people first...giving and taking problems and good things. (Google Tonglen for more info.) I have to remind myself to be less self-centered and to smile at other people a lot more...even if they don't display kindness to me. Eventually, this gives unexpected good paybacks. Just DON'T be nice so that others will be nice in return--too shallow and it won't feel as fulfilling.
-
I feel this way alot, its a normal. I Just remember that life is to short and beautiful to give up. Maybe go for a walk ( if its warm enough ) take a few deep breaths.
-
Almost every morning. I'm not sure why its in the morning but i'm often depressed then. Or when one thing is going good in my life and something else falls to shits. The only thing i don't ever feel like giving up on is my chance to be in this world...i know theres a purpose for me...im just in discovery i suppose. The way i feel better is surrounding myself with friends and having a good time. I also pray about it, or just talk to myself which i know sounds a little odd. But i have anxiety so i've been teaching myself to change all my negative thoughts into positive thoughts (much harder than it seems). But you have to understand that everyone feels like giving up in life at certain points.
-
Oh yeah and I have. I don't play the game JACKS anymore because of it. I just don't have the scooping talent and then when my wife breezes through it and laughs about it. Well lets just say I leave the room now when ever the word JACKS comes up.
-
I felt like giving up before. I thought that I would never be able to draw Archie characters the way they look in the comics, but I kept on practicing and trying and now I know how to draw them. It took a long time. KEEP TRYING!
-
i feel like that all the time, death metal usualle helps me, and playing the drums or just talking to a friend about how you feel.
-
Yeah, I feel that sometimes as well but friends tell me not to, so i continue on what i'm doing. Yet, sometimes its the best to give up on something (or someone) if you feel that what you are doing won't happen.
-
oh, yes some times you just want to get away just for a little time so you don't have to think about anything are do anything, such as work, school, etc.etc.. I have had this feeling the past winter.. and well I didn't really like talking about it or anything..so it just boils up in side(u know this feeling? I think many do) we are always so afraid to talk about our feelings or just talking about us.. it takes a lot af power in one to do so.. But about 2 weeks ago, I was at a camp with my church, and people where opening up, and letting things out, many of them for the first time, and it felt so good, they felt so much better, and lighter.. It was hard for me to do this, so I sat down with my friends, and I really wanted to say something, but it was just so hard(here it is again,WE ,ourselfs" often get in the way) and I just fell apart! I went to the next room, and a girlfriend of mine came and I finaaaallyy opened up. It wa SUCH a relief!! wow.. I´m feeling so much better now! belive me, It is very important to talk to someone, and of course to have God to keep you strong.. he's my medicen;) so just, open up to someone, and you'll feel ALOT better:) God bless you and gives you strangth!

Keep a journal when you feel bad and write how you feel so the next time it happens you will look back and know that you made it out ok and you are going to be just fine.
-
Yes most people feel like giving up sometimes, but you have lots of people here that care about you . So you have a lot of people to share your unhappiness with and who will always be here to share your sorrow Take care Justme and ride out the storm, all storms come to an end eventually.
-
Yes, I have definitely felt this way before... 3 weeks ago to be exact. The following is what I wrote to get back up on my feet (so to speak): When I think I'm about to give up on anything or everything, there's always something there to remind me why I shouldn't. All that anyone really needs in order to get right back up on their feet is encouragement. There are many ways to get this kind of encouragement. Personally, two ways have been most effective. It would either be encouragement from someone who I respect or setting my mind on a goal that is selfless. When I say "encouragement from someone who I respect" I really mean someone who has authority yelling at me. When somebody yells at me I remember why it is important. I also get reminded that someone out there cares. There's more importance in a task that someone other than yourself is depending on. During such a time, if you fail, you won't only disappoint yourself but others as well. This one failure will greatly influence your name. As we understand, reputation is very important. "If you were born a rich man and died a poor man, then you are a poor man." That is why reputation is important; whatever reputation you receive from others before your death is how you will be remembered. After report cards come out, I always have a friend or two who feel like they need to get their act together in order to do improve for the next marking period. In my opinion, the only way to do well is to have a good reason to. Having an incentive to do something is essential (this is why a capitalist economy is so awesome). As a part of human nature, we need competitiveness equally as much as we need love. The best and most effective incentive for anyone, I believe, is a selfless one. Referring back to my previous statement on how someone else's dependence affects performance, it is even most effective for a person to act with absolute selflessness. Doing something and doing it to your fullest is essential for living life. It builds character and every obstacle you face and get through makes you a stronger person. This strength and experience are what make a person who they are. Age may come with wisdom but so do experiences and observations. Always remember a task's importance, no matter how small.
-
Just remeber that we are here, and often wait you to talk with... and spend a time and have fun. And one thing more... spurre yourself physically if you feel like that sometimes it helps...
-
I sleep on it. Things seem so much worse at night.,
-
well, this emotion is absolutely normal...it happens to everyone i think...i have felt like this...i think you need to get to the bottom of what is making you feel like giving up..once you find out, tell someone you really love and trust completely...if it is a very strong feeling, dont give up even if you feel like it...life keeps going on and you have to keep going at it..it'll all turn out ok....lean on someone you trust and love and they'll help you...thats what i think and thats what i do when i feel like that...there is never anything in life tht you cant get out of and that you feel strongly that you cant handle...
-
Don't give up. I feel this way quite often. I sit down, have a good cry and things start to look up. If they don't, I call my doctor, we talk and he gets me something to get me by. Wellbutrin works well for me. Or Zanax Good luck!! And keep your chin up.
-
Everybody feels that way, the only thing to do about it is not giving up.
-
I have felt like giving up many times. The feeling is horrible. When I feel this way I cry and let the people closest to me know how I am feeling. I also play the tape threw in my head to see if things are as bad as I think they are most of the time they are not.Good luck I hope you feel better...Dont give up.
-
memories of better times, and the knowledge that i'll be missed if i do give up.
-
Knowing that the feeling will pass, and a belief that things will get better in time. Most often they do.
-
I find refuge in My family.. My loving wife... my beautiful children. my mother.
-
What to do about it. 1 Take a deep breath 2 Remember you will miss someone 3 Remember those same people will miss you 4 Accept you are unhappy now, not foreever (it may feel like forever but its not) 5 Go be with the people you would miss 6 Tell them you are down 7 Laugh and be happy again, it will happen
-
talk to someone who cares about you! find something beautiful in art, music, or nature (or create something beautiful) do something kind for someone else-- big or small action, it doesn't matter. When you see the ability you possess to make someone else's life a little better it makes you feel 10 times as great. I love to make a conscious effort to give everyone I talk to some sort of compliment on days I'm really feeling down. (and listen to Relient K's song "More Than Useless" it always makes me feel better)
-
Find something in your life that makes it worth living, that makes it worth going to work, school, doing all the things that you hate. There are always going to be times where you want to give up, but if you look hard enough, there is always a reason that you shouldn't. How much influence this reason has on your decision is up to you. Also.. this is going to sound odd, but try to stay in warm sunny places as much as possible, as this cheers you up a bit, as opposed to cold darkness.
-
Do I ever feel this way? More often than i want. It's perfectly normal to feel like this every once in a while. What do i do about it. Take a brake. We all need to simmer down everyonce in a while too. That's what you need to do too. Take some time off until you feel that you can get back on your feet.

I used to write, I had no one to really talk to, so I would write. Sometimes I just needed to get it out. There were times when that wasn't enough and I would just have to pull myself up out of that hole (& I've been in that hole many, many times). Sometimes, I would tell myself I'm not going to give in, I'm not going to let everyone else be right (b/c they would all say I was depressed or they would act like they thought I couldn't do anything on my own). I would make myself get up and be productive. I would just tell myself, "I'll show them..I can do it and I will be better off in the end" and that's what I did. I've had to do it for myself the past few times I got in that "hole" b/c when I did try to call someone or lean on someone, they weren't there. It is a sad, yet good, feeling though to be able to do it yourself. It's hard though, so if you do need someone to talk to or lean on I have ears, I'm a good listener..SOmetimes, that's all you need.

Everyone does - and if someone doesn't then they must be a hell of a strong person. Whatever you do, do not give up! Keep working through the situation untill you make it through to the other side - you will be thankful you did! Have a good life :)
-
I count my blessings which makes me grateful for all I have. It really makes everything else icing on the cake. Giving up is brought on by despair, rejoice for God loves you and so do I.
-
Oh I feel like giving up everyday. What keeps me going is Hope. Though, lately it seems everyday I have less and less. I just hang in there. Just don't give up. Keep on going! :) You never know how things will turn out in the future.
-
I have but i just think to myslef keep on keepin on i just cant give up i think i was put here for somthin and i want to find out so i cant give up
-
Sometimes I feel like giving up, but I pray, maybe have a good cry, and remind myself that there's a rainbow after every storm. Tomorrow is ALWAYS better. Just hang on for tomorrow. That's what I do...
-
No. I NEVER EVER let myself give up and never will. Even though i am only a teenager, and haven't faced problems like most people have, i have always gone-on and never let myself stop. I always try. I have been through very tough times, my 1st year in secondary school was surely the worst time in my life. But now, i have great friends, a great family , God and everyone in Heaven is helping me, and none of those people, or anyone, or myself, will let me give up.

Everyone feels that way from time to time. You are physically, emotionally, or spiritually drained. That is not an indictment. Nor is a predictor of failure. All great successes have come to this place in their lives more than once. Life is a race that you only lose when you quit. However, you need to rest from time to time -- an pace yourself -- and allow for mood swings and down time. You need people who can speak truth into your life and listen skillfully and non-judgmentally to your pain. You need to invest in yourself, your health, and your hopes. You may be depressed and need some medical or counseling help. I cannot know that from here. You know. Don't quit. Tomorrow is an entirely different day with new possibilities. Gerturde Ederle did quit - ONCE - in her attempt to swim the English Channel, but she came back and accomplished the feat. Here is her story: http://www.doversolo.com/ederle.htm You can do it. You can face another day. This one may be hard. It may take everything you have just to get dressed and out of bed today. The rewards may not be visible. The fog may be thick, but it will not always be that way. I have a feeling about you and I am cheering for and praying for you. If you cannot believe in yourself, borrow some of my belief for now - and God's belief in you. You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! DO NOT QUIT!
-
I usually just sit or lay down and think about how sad I am then walk slowly and after a couple of hours, I'm good. Or when it's really bad, I just write in my journal.
-
Yes I do. I make sure when I get like that I find a way to a friend's house. Being alone is the worst thing to do when you feel like that.
-
yes. I keep at it. Im in college know and I was kicked out about a semester ago. I am probably facing the same thing but I refuse to give up.I want my degree, so I can live a better life than what I was born into. Plus I want to feel good about myself.
-
Yeah All The Time. But Then I Get Angry With Myself And Call My Self An Idiot That Should Probably Die For Even Thinking Of Giving Up I Mean Come On Really Theres Like A Billion People Thatd Love To Be In My Shoes. Just Remember There Is Always And I Mean Always Someone Out There With A Worser Life Then Yours So Shut Up And Stop Complaning.
