I get bloody noses if the temperature is turned up too cold.

It could be the spores and germs it is blowing around your home and the added dryness from the A/C, too can cause your nose to be itching and runny.

Very likely your unit needs a filter change. You are probably reacting to dust and pollen circulating in the air. I am speaking from experience, as someone who has allergies to air pollutants.
