  • I was in Tennessee when Elvis died and it was like royalty had died. I remember Lennon as well, terribly sad and tragic. Others who died tragically were John Denver, Patsy Cline, Lynerd Skynerd, Ricky Nelson, The Big Bopper and Richie Valenz ~ off the top of my head.

  • I remember both of those, i was ten when Elvis passed 1977 and did get a little confused as i thought we had a Queen and everybody was crying over the king! But i did love his music as i got older John Lennon 1980 I loved the song Imagine but i wasn't a Beatles fan only liking a few of their songs.

  • The earliest (really major) musician death I remember was Johnny Cash. He died when I was 10, in 5th grade. There were some I remember from before them, like Chet Atkins and George Harrison, (both died 2001, when I was 8) but they are more obscure.
