If I'm in california, which I am about half the time, I'd be swimming with the squids, if I'm here in the BIG GA which I am the other half of the time, I'd be wishing I got better insurance coverage in California.

The sheer enormity of such an event, causing such loss of life would be hard to grasp. But because my son, daughter-in-law and grandchild, as well as many close friends live there, it would also be a personal tragedy.

California isn't ever going to 'slip off'. It's sitting on two different plates. The most that would ever happen is LA might become a suburb of San Francisco. A couple thousand millenia from now.

Other than massive numbers of dead people, including some relatives and very close friends, it would mean that my drive time to the beach would be marginally shorter.
