I think he's a little...off the rocker. Do you know how he finds inspiration? He locks himself in a closet and thinks of the scariest thing he can. And then writes... I read that in an interview once. Strange. But he is a brilliant author.

I think to have his imagination you have to be a little crazy, but that isn't a negative thing.

Yes, just a little crazy, but its kind of fun to go there with him sometimes. I read an interview with him once, and the interviewer (not a big King fan), alluded to the fact that she didn't think he really had a heart. His return was, "How could you say that. Actually, I have the heart of a little boy. It's in that jar there on the corner of my desk."

No; I think he's completely batsh!t crazy. But that's true of a lot of geniuses, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt!

I think he most definatley has some issues, howeve he's also a genius and is able to produce creative, imaginative works that stun and amaze millions of readers. He's crazy in a good way :) (if thats possible..)

I thinks this man's mind is amazing. He writes soo fast and can take a simple concept like a rabid dog and come up with such a good book like "Cujo". Like all writers, you have your off books, but you also have some really good ones. His range is good too, I'm not into spiritistic stuff like Pet Cemetary, but I enjoyed Stand By Me.

No, look at all the intelligent painters, and writers. They all seem to have a different look on the world, as oppose to a "normal" individual. But i would not call an artist of any kind crazy.

Maybe just a little. He kind of has to be to come up with the stuff he does. (doesn't he?) I once lived in an aparment with a big grate in the kitchen floor which the heat came from. I read the book It while living there. I could not step on that grate for the rest of the time I lived there. I think he has an amazing imagination.

I don't think so. He's making millions to do something he loves. What IS crazy is going to work every day to a job you don't care for just to pay the bills.

I really believe that he is. I remember several years ago reading an article where he was interviewed. Somebody asked him what he would have done with his life if he hadn't had become a famous author, and he said he would have been a serial killer. That's how warped his mind is, and he writes books to release his inner crazy self.

Brilliance is seen as madness by those who dont posses it. Of course he's crazy, but he's got sense enough to make money from his insanity.

I would consider him ''politely bold''. Stephen King and his books are completely harmless, but he knows exactly how to charm the reader with familiarity and general social flow and incorporate the supernatural within, and even then, it's left to basic psychological reasoning and attribution. The man is a genius, albeit one who will never step over the bounds, otherwise he'd lose the general public.

No. In every interview I've seen with the man, he seems very ordinary and down to earth. The fact that he has a talent for writing horror novels doesn't make him crazy.

NO. I think that Stephen King has lived an extremely full life, is very astute and has a writing talent. The first dozen of his books to me are worthwhile. The rest put me to sleep until I just stopped reading them. But in the '70's I was a huge fan. His short stories to me a terrific. That one about the doctor who was shipwrecked on an island with just a doctor's bag filled with heroin was really hideous though. He kept chopping off his body parts after shooting up on heroin so he could eat. It was sick but imaginative for sure. I'm sure there was symbolism there big time. Greed, addction etc. But sick nonetheless.

No, I've seen a lot of interviews with him. He's a regular type of guy...just with an amazing ability. Realize that it's not his monsters that are all that scary. It's the fact that he builds really great characters that you end up caring about that make the monsters scary. Put another way, if you didn't care about his characters, you simply wouldn't care if or how they were killed.

No i dont think he's a little crazy. The man is totally and completely out of his natural mind! the lord alone knows where he comes up with these twisted ideas.

I believe Stephen King is a man before his time and a lot misunderstood by those that are afraid to open their minds and see the other side of the picture. Most people tend to view things in 2 diminsions Stephen has given us a 3rd if we'd care to look and learn.

All creative people are just slightly touched in one way or another. Just my opinion of course. I've met Mr. King and yes he can seem to be that way sometimes.

not really. i tried to read his one book "desperation" and i couldn't finish it.but only because i dont like the way he writes, i get bored with all the details. but i wouldn't call it crazy, i'd call it amazing and artistic.
