The Grand Theft Auto series is the best thing that has happened to the world!!!!!!!!!!! Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is the greatest GTA game ever made. The violence, the sex, the gore, the guns, the locations, the fights, the vehicles, the missions, the characters, the soundtracks, everything about those games are so addicting. I wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for the Grand Theft Auto series. People who are trying to ban the GTA series...they don't have a life. If someone's offended by the GTA series, or any videogame, they should leave it alone and not play it. Btw, does anyone else know if they're going to make another one after Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas?

Am I offended by the GTA series? not really. Why? Bcoz the game to me is just a game. I do not get addicted to any. The only reason i play games is bcoz i have nothing better today at that specific time. So if ppl call me outside, i would definately go and chill with friends for couple of hours instead of sitting at home and driving like nuts in the game world.

Not in the least, I rather enjoy playing as a matter of fact. It's one of the few games on the market that combine many types of game play, from driving, flying, swimming, biking...and on and on to some social skills as well. Sure there's murder and mayhem, but just like in the "real" world, you're punished for some of it. It's not exactly a game that small kids ought to play, but I think an older teen can handle it. It's no worse than what's available on Tv. If parents don't think it's appropriate, they don't have to buy it for their kids or allow it to be played.

Ask yourself: does these games make me grow as a person, do they teach me values that are helpful for my community? what do they teach me about attitudes to the law? to women? If I had to consider all these, then, in relation to Grand Theft Auto does offend me, because it is antisocial.

I'm only offended by the fact that there is a sex scene in one of the games. Even if you can't get to it normally, it's still there, and some people would want to get to that scene.

Yeah, I don't consider that entertainment and to think that kids who are 10 or 11 and go to school with my son find that entertaining and their parents allow them to play it is sickening. They will undoubtedly begin down the road of desensitisation at an earlier age due to games of this nature. It's an adult game, fine, adults should be allowed to play it since they are free individuals, but more needs to be done to ensure that children under the age of 18 aren't accessing the game. I know you're supposed to be 18 to 'buy' it, but people are having friends buy it or even their parents buy it for their young children. Parents need to wake up and be aware of what their kids are watching, playing, and entertaining themselves with. If you don't give your children ideals and morals... someone else will, and you may not like results.

Some people would be because of the intense racism involved in these games and the drug usage and all the hidden little "mini-games" but really its your own choice to play the game don't criticize people for liking something you don't just for the excessive drug references and gang violence.

It doesn't offend me per se. I just don't like some of the things that it portrays. However, my answer to that is I just don't buy it or play it. I have no right to tell other people how to live their lives, so if they like it, so be it. Protesting is often nothing more than trying to bully people into accepting your point of view anyway. That or attention seeking. Let them protest. The makers of GTA are still laughing - all the way to the bank.

No I think they were really cool. Nothing like the gaming world had ever seen before. Gta started off a whole new game play, with gangsters, missions, crashable cars etc. I dont think people should copy the things done in the game, but thats exactly what it is, a game. Abit like when a murder takes place and they say they got it from a movie. You didnt hear about this sort of thing when jerry was setting toms tail on fire, or hitting him around the face with a frying pan did you?!? I think its just people finding an excuse to blame anything.

For some reason the violence comes off as cartoon-ish, and satirical, in GTA. I think that slight gap from realism is what made it fun....and not disturbing. Rockstar just got the right formula. Compare it to another game, like Manhunt and it is a different story. It was very disturbing and in no way cartoon-ish or satirical. I didn't make it far through that game.

Did violence begin with video games? Did early romans kill the first christions by feeding them to the lions because they played too many games or watch too many movies? Did Hitler order the murder of innocent Jews because he was addicted to Doom 3? Did Al Capone order the St. Valentines day murders out of anger from getting pwned at too many Halo 2 matches? Its a good game but it teaches younger kids who play follow the screen as it show. For example killing a police or a person, blowing up cars. It can cause them into gangs unless the are smart enough that game is fake.

GTA: San Andreas is the only video game ever created that is actually offensive for semi-plausible reasons. I realize that you don't have to play a game if it offends you, and I don't play this particular game. But I am aware of its racist, sexist, criminalistic content and it does nothing for me. It's hard to defend a game that allows you to have sex with a hooker to replenish your energy and them to shoot her in the back with a machine gun when she walks away so that you can take your money back. People who play this game are just as vouyerisitc as that guy looking through your daughter's window, and their thoughts are just as disturbing.

Well i`m not ...tbh i think that games besides entertainment have the goal of letting us do things that you can't or are not allowed to in your day to day life, sort of like a release. And i don't think stopping a car on the street, kicking the driver in the face and driving it off a bridge and get away with it is very possible these days :)) I`ve only played gta1,2,3 and san andreas (which is my fav cause of the story which i find to be well made and interesting).

Grand Theft Auto is fine if used correctly, as long as you can differ it from real life then it's good. Sadly, (and this is why the PEGI rating sysem came into place) two people though that it was real. They though that people just appeared and it didn't matter if you shot them. One day they got hold of a sniper rifle, you can guess what happened. They ended up sitting by a motorway shooting at people! one person died and mmany were injured. In short, life isn't just about games. You should be able to see the difference and if you can't you shouldn't be playing them.

only cause I bought it for me and my brother and his friend never let me play it. They played it as if they are the ones that bought it. This friend gets excited on every sequel that gets released as if he's the one who bought it first and it's 'his' game.

I think Its a bit stupid that people say that this game is going to bring along terrible values for children, and stealing car's is fun, it dosent ever say that the life is fun, and can be a struggle if you dont have Brilliant wits about you and social skills. I think trying at every turn to guard yourself, or guard other people, makes you or the person your guarding more ignorant on today's cultural activities. Many people find the GTA series seriously offensive, whereas other find it entertaining. Those who do not wish to witness the likings of the game should clearly not buy it. Rockstar apologized publicly many times for the racial abuse in GTA San Andreas, and seeing as the whole world is waiting for The GTA 4 I strongly suggest that those who dislike the game, are not to buy it, as it is an eighteen anyway so if parents do not want to let their children learn this language and behaviour, should not buy nor play the game.
