We actually discussed this in my sociology class but since I am not a black man I can not vouch for it's accuracy. Black men look at white girls as "goddesses" of some sort. Since it is still looked down upon by some people for different races to date each other the white girls are something of a novelty if you will. It's very hard for me to put into words. Also, I understand it but don't agree with it. I think people should date whoever they are attracted to and not have it questioned.

i think it is also a question of where you grew up and with whom. As for my husband is black and i am white i asked him too why? and he said he has always fancied white girls more (physically), though he has dated black girls too. he did grow up in a more prodomentaly white area, so it could be of what was inprinted in his youth. though i do agree with Liz that a lot of black men will go out with a white girl, they prefer to settle/marry a black girl because of the old "tradition" of not mixing races. this does go for other races too though not just black men. but unfortunately you do hear more of them white girls being knocked up by a black man (this goes for the uk).

I'm a black woman raised in african american culture so I know black women and black men and I will be honest with my answer. Some of you are sightly right and some of you... I worry about you having children and spreading such ignorance in the world. The first reason why black men date white women is due to history. Slave masters where very familiar with bedding black women but black men could not even bed there own women with out permission. Because white women where untouchable to black men it glorified the experience. Things are very different now since then but the glorification of the white woman for the black man still lives on. The second reason,( although I hate to admit this), not all but most black women due to culture are more aggressive than white women are. I am not at all aggressive but sadly its just true for black women. This is not necessarily a bad thing our history has made us strong and our relationships with our own men have too. It's no secret that static show that a high percentage of black men are not the best fathers or function well in society, so in a lot of ways what do you really expect of black women. However there are cases when the attitudes are toooo much and it gets out of hand. Most white women not all are much more recessive with men and tend to be a support system. However black men are very dominating figures and take this for granted, some even stating themselves that white women are weaker. I don't believe that goodness of any kind should be taken for granted. So there is your answer.

Well it takes two to Tango, so it's not just black men's fault, I believe some of these white women are willingly going out with black men, I don't think they all have a gun to their heads. Variety is the spice of life, we all like to try different things, that's all it is. You could also argue that when pretty girls are needed, be it on a TV show, in an advert, or in a magazine, 9 times out of 10 that void is filled by a white woman, very rarely are the black honeys put at the forefront, even the Oriental women, of which there are less of in the west, are given more limelight than black women. I am dating a black man. I am caucasian, blonde with green eyes. He has dated both black, white, and mixed. I think the reasons differ from immigrants to Canadian born black males. The immgrated men tend to think of white women as a meal ticket, ego boost and may believe they can get away with poor behavior easier. The Canadian born and raised white man may like the attitude and physical looks of a white female over a black female and may still be the major bread winner. I think there definately are men of all different origins that seekout white women to use as doormats; thinking we will be more trusting, less dramatic and more forgiving of lying, cheating and manipulating than their race. So much depends on how the man was raised. I definately had to set my boyfriend straight when he was showing signs of being a dead-weight, free riding lazy ass!

Personally speaking, if I were to date a white woman it would be because she has a pleasant personality, and because she's attractive. I like WOMEN. PERIOD. I don't care what color she is. My WIFE, on the other hand, might take ISSUE with that position, so there won't be any dating of women of ANY color in the very near future.

I just don't believe in mixing the races that way," Bardwell told the Associated Press on Thursday. "I have piles and piles of black friends. They come to my home, I marry them, they use my bathroom. I treat them just like everyone else." Bardwell said he asks everyone who calls about marriage if they are a mixed race couple. If they are, he does not marry them, he said. Bardwell said he has discussed the topic with blacks and whites, along with witnessing some interracial marriages. He came to the conclusion that most of black society does not readily accept offspring of such relationships, and neither does white society, he said. "There is a problem with both groups accepting a child from such a marriage," Bardwell said. "I think those children suffer and I won't help put them through it." If he did an interracial marriage for one couple, he must do the same for all, he said. "I try to treat everyone equally," he said. Bardwell estimates that he has refused to marry about four couples during his career, all in the past 2 1/2 years. Beth Humphrey, 30, and 32-year-old Terence McKay, both of Hammond, say they will consult the U.S. Justice Department about filing a discrimination complaint. Humphrey, an account manager for a marketing firm, said she and McKay, a welder, just returned to Louisiana. She is white and he is black. She plans to enroll in the University of New Orleans to pursue a masters degree in minority politics. "That was one thing that made this so unbelievable," she said. "It's not something you expect in this day and age." Humphrey said she called Bardwell on Oct. 6 to inquire about getting a marriage license signed. She says Bardwell's wife told her that Bardwell will not sign marriage licenses for interracial couples. Bardwell suggested the couple go to another justice of the peace in the parish who agreed to marry them. "We are looking forward to having children," Humphrey said. "And all our friends and co-workers have been very supportive. Except for this, we're typical happy newlyweds." "It is really astonishing and disappointing to see this come up in 2009," said American Civil Liberties Union of Louisiana attorney Katie Schwartzmann. She said the Supreme Court ruled in 1967 "that the government cannot tell people who they can and cannot marry." The ACLU sent a letter to the Louisiana Judiciary Committee, which oversees the state justices of the peace, asking them to investigate Bardwell and recommending "the most severe sanctions available, because such blatant bigotry poses a substantial threat of serious harm to the administration of justice." "He knew he was breaking the law, but continued to do it," Schwartzmann said. According to the clerk of court's office, application for a marriage license must be made three days before the ceremony because there is a 72-hour waiting period. The applicants are asked if they have previously been married. If so, they must show how the marriage ended, such as divorce. Other than that, all they need is a birth certificate and Social Security card. The license fee is $35, and the license must be signed by a Louisiana minister, justice of the peace or judge. The original is returned to the clerk's office. "I've been a justice of the peace for 34 years and I don't think I've mistreated anybody," Bardwell said. "I've made some mistakes, but you have too. I didn't tell this couple they couldn't get married. I just told them I wouldn't do it."

I am going to list two of the reasons that as a black man I like white women. 1. They have different features than me. 2. I get more positive responses. Ex: I am an average guy in looks but I keep fit and groomed. Most of the black women who agree to date me are usually the ones who are overweight, have multiple children, looking for guy to spoil them financially, and art extremely religious. However the white women who agree to date me are the type who are slender to medium built, have one or no children, and are willing to go 50/50 or are not expecting me to shower them with gifts, and are closer to my own spiritual path. Not to say I have not met black women who fit what I wanted , but they were not attracted to me whether I was simply not their type, they were not interested in men, or they were already taken. Just two of my reasons.

In my area the ratio between single black men and sinlge white men is very large, with four black man for every one white man. Also the ratio between single white women and single black women is even higher, with being 1 black women for every 1oo white women. Now ask again how in my hometown while their is of course a lot of black man daiting white women.

I've talked to a few black guys about this and they said mainly its because society puts white women on a pedestal and so black men think a white woman is like having a trophy. They also said that white women are easier to malipulate and they aren't as sassy as black women and pretty much do what they say to do so they are easier to control.
