Verbal/psychological. Visible wounds heal much faster then mental ones. Mental abuse can last for years after it is inflicted. One 'you're ugly' stings for a lot longer then a slap/punch.

Any kind. It's not the "physical" aspect of physical abuse, but the mental issues that stem from it. All abuse is physical in some way or another.

Sexual...especially by a priest or a parent...because thats who your suppose to feel most safe around...and once that happens who do you trust....not even god in some cases!

Mental abuse, in my opinion has the longest ill affects on our life. While the bruises fade and go away, the mind keeps it stored. It steals our self worth, are belief in our judgement, our ability to trust, to love openly and completly. It plants a deep seed of fear. Which no person should carry. Believe in your self, and move away from abusive people they will keep you in bondage as long as they can. Abusive people have no control over themselves so they thirst for the power to control others.

I will say sexual abuse particularly from a loved one.

Any kind of abuse is horrible to go through, however, I have been through all kinds and I can say from experience that mental abuse from a spouse and neglect from parents outlast any affects from any other type of abuse, including sexual! They scar your heart in a much deeper way.

I would say psychological abuse. Closely followed by sexual or physical. Although in a lot of cases psychological would intertwine with physical and sexual because of the memories they would etch into your mind and the secrets you would be forced to keep.
