yes, and it is a %.. so maybe 2-5% of what the tv channel is making

depends on the contract their agent worked out with the producers of the film, tv show or commercial. Sometimes it is a flat fee, sometimes there are residuals, those are all things agents work out in the negotiations. Usually the bigger star you are the more youc an negotiate this. Sometimes if it is a small film you might make a small fee paid in full and get residuals since the budget for the film can't pay you much. It all depends on the budgets, the project, how you negotiate and such.
