  • Not for a second!
  • Nope, he is human :o)
  • I may go to hell for saying this, but no.
  • Yes, if you consider yourself a REAL catholic he is. BUT only on matters of spirituality or religious doctrine; it says nothing about him being infalible in other areas. If you dont belive in his infalibily , go be a protestant, thats one of the main differences between faiths.
  • I don't think that he is supposed to be is he? Isn't God (and possibly Jesus; I don't know a lot about Christianity) supposed to be the only infallible one(s)?
  • No. Whoever made that claim?
  • nope. put me in a room with him alone for 10 minutes and i could prove it
  • Even Catholic church doctrine only states that he's infallible when he speaks "ex cathedra", meaning "from the chair" or "throne". This doesn't mean literally from a special chair, but basically when he says that X is the official and infallible truth on a certain subject. This is apparently very rare that this is done.
  • No human being is infallible, and the pope is human. Therefore, he is not infallible...
  • Infallible??? He is just a mere mortal like everyone else.
  • Yes of course he is. Over two thousand years of Pope's being infallible is proof enough for me. :)
  • Ur kidding right??? Ask Urself why they have to wear dresses??? They are so "Old" that they "Sneeze, they also Leak & Pass Da Bomb" under the "Dress" On & Off the "Throne" just like anyone else!!! And I realize I'll catch Hell for that, but being "PC" works "Both Ways"!!! He says "Other Christians"(not catholic) can't go to Heaven, where's the "PC Outcry" against that??? John
  • In areas of faith and morals, when he speaks ex-Cathedra, he is infallible. I challenge anyone who says otherwise to specify the exact error any pope in the past 2000 years when he has taught ex-Cathedra.
  • Certainly not. You cannot base your whole life on one man! What if he turned into a psycho :S
  • Do bears ever *not* shit in the woods?! ;-)
  • Nope :)
  • Yes, he is suppose to take confession once a week and can be replaced/
  • The Pople is a human just like everybody else. He is a sinner just like everybody else. He's not a "higher breed." EVERY man is unrighteous, not understanding, no one seeks God, all turn aside from God, are useless, and not one does good. (Romans 3:10-12) Once God transforms a believer, only then they can exhibit a faith that works, a love that labors, and a hope that endures. "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, " -Romans 3:23
  • Sometimes. The Catholic Church teaches that the Pope is infallible at closely defined times. This miracle only happens when the Pope, in union with the body of bishops, solemnly teaches that a doctrine as true. This is called "ex cathedra", literally meaning in Latin "from the chair". This comes from the words of Jesus to Peter (the first Pope) and the Apostles (the first bishops), "Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven" (Matthew 18:18) and "He who hears you hears me" (Luke 10:16). At all other times the Pope can be just as wrong or sinful as you and me and be in need of forgiveness. For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 891: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1sect2chpt3art9p4.shtml#891 With love in Christ.
  • Only God is infallable. The Pope gets guidance from above with a pure heart and sincere intent to do good. But calling him infallable is a huge error in judgment.
