With some exceptions, yes. Not only do they tell others what your feeling, they can and do etch themselves onto your face what you think of life in general!
-
your face and body tells what your thinking, as well as how you feel.
-
no. I seem to be good at that, using facial expressions that hide how I'm really feeling... well, sometimes anyway...
-
That's a really good question. I think I'm pretty good at reading body language, but how do you feel?
-
I think it would depend on the person. The eyes are the biggest give away though i reckon. Even if a person i smiling you can tell if its bs or not by the eyes.
-
No, I slap a smile on and no one knows how I feel but me :)
-
No, I feel I am a decent poker player.
-
I guess I wouldn't know.
-
YES
-
Only when I want them too!
-
Not if you have taken botox!!! hehehe. Seriously, I say yes. Body language speaks more than words.
-
Normally faces must reflect the feelings in the mind like a mirror. But most people have self-trained themselves to keep their faces expressionless. Then there are the acting artists who can produce any expression they want on their faces regardless the feelings in their minds. It is only when people are off their guards that the real feelings can be read on their faces. So generally it is risky to hazard a speculation as to how people feel from the expressions on their faces.
-
I have a very expressive face !!
-
If someone knows you well then yes.....they will do!!!
-
My husband can tell, even when I'm trying to disguise it.
-
Yes it does....Unless I want to hide my feelings then I have a pretty good poker face.
-
OH yes they tell of health problems I have. When I have a migraine it shows and when I am in a lot of pain it shows...so I don't play poker.
-
Usually your facial expressions and body language tell how you're feeling, but you have to keep empathy in mind as well. That's my thoery on it.
-
Very much so. I'm very expressive and at times it isn't a good thing. A poker face--I do not have.
-
Yeah of course! It does tells so. However, one should have the eyes to read it.
-
more often than not, yes ! :)
-
Yes, people can read me like a book.
-
i laugh and often sing when i feel awkward so i guess they don't well, at least not all the time.
-
Yes, when I'm upset my face goes blank and my eyebrows lower.
-
Yes from happy, sad, angry or pigged off everyone can tell just with my expressions:)
-
thatss why people have facial expressionzz lolz
-
Only when the emotion is strong enough and sudden enough to override facial control.
-
Oh yes, I have a very difficult time hiding these expressions.
-
Oh yes. It's hard for me to hide how I really feel.
-
most of the time
-
Yes for sure
-
Yes, they are called Micro-expressions. They reflect every emotion, and more than just you face as a whole, can give it away. It's actually really interesting. And I heard before that this is how some people are really good at predicting one's actions. They can pick up on these small expressions, one might not even be aware that they are making!
-
Everyone always knows exactly what I am thinking from my face. I have absolutely no poker face what so ever. Im a really bad liar as a result.
-
Yes, and it's an ability quite easy to learn. Exception: when the observee is a psychopath, all bets are off.
-
My father-in-law always said i had a poker face. It was years before I knew what he meant.
-
Fortunately or unfortunately, I show my emotions on my sleeve. I can't be a good bluffer because my face gives me away.
-
Unfortunately yes they do.
-
no it doesn't, i'm so tired of people asking me what's wrong or if i'm angry; when i'm neither.
-
yea. can never hide my emotions
-
mine do I'm an open book
-
Less of the times...
-
I am very facially expressive...some say I wear my heart on my sleeve but it is really on my face...
-
Oh yes. :) When I'm with others, no matter what's said, I always notice "what are the eyes saying to me"? Eye contact (or not) .. and what they're saying. Who was it that called our eyes the windows to our souls? I'll go along with that. :)
-
Apparently not, whenever I have a straight, neutral face, some people think I look upset or something.
-
Yes. I'm easy to read but I prefer it that way. Clear and transparent.
-
I'm very transparent, even if I don't want it to show lol!
-
No, I always look happy, I never truly feel happy. Life's wonderful innit...
-
There have been studies about this. Even little children can see someone's mood by their faces. When my kids were little, they used to think I was mad when I wasn't because I have a frown that is genetic (and there wasn't botox then)
-
Yes especially if some one has angered me a tough thing to do my teeth chatter & and I shake intensely, it is a fight or flight thing I assume they are going to attack me so my body prepares for it. Apparenttly people saw this behavior and thought I was insane rather than here is a guty who has just had it up to here with peoples BS & violence.
-
I think it all depends on the persons body language and not the facial expression. There are millions of people around the world that angry or lazy but that doesn't necessary mean that they are. It's a combination of both there facial expression and body language.
-
Not at all. Everyone always askes me if I'm angry even if I'm extremely happy. I never smile, and I haven't cried in 6 years.
-
No, not always. I'm very happy with my friends, but their always concerned that I'm not because I watch them having fun but rarely join in. And I can also pull some fake emotions that fool a ton of people. It takes some work to pull something like that off, but with some people, its almost as natural as showing their emotions with expressions.
-
Yes I believe so. But there are people out there that are very good at disguising their facial expression.
-
Yes, anyone can read my feelings.
-
No. To the world, I am a calm and collected person. Inside, I have plenty of thoughts that run through my head and I feel things very intensely. The people who can tear off my mask and love me as I am are the people who complete me. I am a very detached person in social settings and I try very hard not to show my emotions. I have been told that I am very hard to read on more than one occasion. This is why it surprises me when someone I know personally actually gets me and understands me for once without me having to say a word.
-
Not really, I'm rather deceptive *plays theme from the x-files*
-
No because I usually am thinking of a response far in advance and it is the current time frame or on the same topic even.
-
I think that most of the time they do. For the most part I can kind of read someone's mood by the way they look on the outside. But then again, that's not always the case.
-
Yes and more Unlike "Phrenology" the study of lumps on your head, there is a very real possibility that you could diagnose emotional disorders using facial profiling. (It needs to become a science, though) Everything from poker players reading "tells" to studies of babies reading emotions of parents, lies deeply encoded in the neurology and the limbic system. People who run a Con game, fortune tellers and so-called mind readers are all "face readers". In fact the defect called Asperger's Syndrome is expressed as a deficit in this area of the neurology. Oh Yes! ! ;)
-
sometimes but hubby hates that I have the Peggy Bundy leg twitch when Im pissed
-
I believe so. I sometimes wear my heart on my sleeves. But if I really want to hide it, I might successfully do it. I have been trying to hide it... I think, for the past few days.
-
Only half the time. The other half could lead to misunderstandings. Best not to judge too much as it is not completely reliable.
-
pretty much, i hadn got a poker face.
-
yup, cant hide it ... specially when im so upset
-
Yeah I think so. Lots of times if I'm watching TV or thinking about something, I realize I'm smiling to myself without even meaning too.
-
Unfortunately yes, I can't hid anything.
-
Hells no!!! I'm very good at covering that up. I would probably be dead if I wasn't good at masking.
-
Not when you're playing poker.
-
Not when you are older.....'old'. muscles in the face decrease.
-
its pretty tricky... even if I use my blank stare they know what I feel or sometimes my facial reactions are delayed so not really much
-
Not always.I sometimes catch myself in a mirror, thinking and feeling one way, while acting another. My face is mostly monotone except for occational facial twitches,I can't really mirror people and the like, but I CAN,and DO feel empathy and compassion, even now.You know when you can't feel any of that.I've been there, too, and it sucks-anyway,this does have MUCH to do with facial expressions as well,so I digress...*
-
Often, more than I'd like. Actors, compulsive liars , etc. don't seem to have these issues.
-
No, my facial expression do not really tell how i am feeling. I have become very good at hiding it. So i am able to laugh when i am about to cry, and stay calm when i want to scream. I can hide things very well, So no my facial expressions do not really tell how i feel.
-
Yes, to much. :)
-
Not all the time.
-
I think so, but it doesn't reveal what it is you are thinking about at that moment.
-
And THEN some!
-
Sometimes my serious topic face has been known to look like I'm worried or angry. At least that is what my daughter says as we break into an argument because of my perceived look. So I have to say NO.
-
They can, although body language is key. Someone might be telling you something and trying to reinforce it with a facial expression, but there are many other hints that will help better determine what the real feelings are...or at least that what they are saying is not what they really mean.
-
i have no face, hence i can generate no expressions
