Eventually it will get hungry. When it comes out to eat, bariccade off it's hiding place and torture it with a water pistol. (Serves the self absorbed feline right!)

Flame Thrower?

Try opening up a can with a can opener. If you have a general idea where she is do it near that. Or it the cat is given treats, shake the can, or bag or whatever it comes in.

With a life mouse

Why would you want to, its probably safer there :) Joking, try a string, and maybe a bell of sorts
-
Act like a mouse. ;-) Just leave a dish of food in its normal feeding location along with some water. The cat will eventually tire of "hiding" and get hungry or need to visit the catbox. All things in due time. Our cats "hide" from us quite regularly, so it never bothers anyone in the family.

All my cats come running when I open the door where their food is kept. It creaks just a bit. Even if they have just finished eating, if they hear that door they come running. As to luring a hiding cat, I had one that hid for five days when we brought her home. Cheese worked to finally get her to come out.

Something with a lot of smell, like canned tuna is a good way to get them out.
-
Defrost some frozen prawns - it works for us! :) good luck and let us know how you get on...

Here, allow me!!! haha

shake a box of cat crunchies!

A cat needs time to get used to a new home. Eventually she/he will come out, be patient. If the cat feels threatened it will continue to hide.
-
A nice piece of cooked chicken it never fails.
-
What works for me is shaking my cat's treats. He'll come out of anywhere...
-
open a can of tuna fish and put it in the cats dish. Make sure you don't let the cat go unseen for days -- cats tend to hide if they are injured... make an effort to find and check the cat... and try working with the cat to socialize it in your environment away from distractions and loud noises.
-
I would try to open her favorite cat food and put by where she may be.
-
Tell him his dinner is ready...

Cat treats work on some of mine.
-
just wait , it will come around in it's own time . a new cat i presume ? if so , give it a few days .
-
L'il Friskies?! ;-)
-
Try a can of smelly Tuna fish. Unless extremely shy, most cats can't resist the smell.
-
shake a can of cat treats.

I know very little about cats but I am reasonably sure tear gas would do the trick. If it is desirable to see the cat again then perhaps just wind-up old fashioned alarm clock thrown in carefully to avoid hitting the subject... Next time it should be sufficient to just inform the cat that either it comes out willingly or you might repeat what you did last time.

With a string and a feather!! +6

Let him smell some tuna fish.

Wear a Catwoman costume

Tuna works easily when my cat goes into stealth mode.

Is this a cat that's new to your home? If so, just be patient. The cat will come out when it feels safe. If you pester it, that will make the cat feel threatened and it will stay hidden longer. Make sure food, water, and a litter box are available to it. If the cat is very scared, it won't even come out for Tuna, so don't leave wet food out very long - it will just go to waste. Dry food or cat treats are fine. Unfamiliar noises are scary, so try to keep the house quiet. There are some pheremone products you might want to try, but they can be expensive and probably aren't necessary. Don't worry - the cat should come around eventually. When I brought my cat home a year and a half ago, she stayed mostly hidden (under the bed and in the back of a closet) for over a week. Now, she follows me around the house. :-)
