  • Do you mean what was my most illogical fear, or what was by greatest fear that would fall into the illogical category? My most illogical fear was that doors would eat me. I looked at doors head on, and the knobs on each side looked like eyes and the metal thing that forms the closing/locking mechanism looked like a tongue. A close second was the fear that there was a camera in the shower head. But those weren't really fears, they were fantasies that I didn't really take seriously, I guess. I didn't really have any irrational fears. All my fears were all too reasonable. Well, death and mutilation were pretty much it actually.

  • My grandmother was a world traveler with a passport full of visa stamps. Masks floated her boat and her house was filled with them. The "scariest" (to us kids) was a BRIGHTLY COLORED Korean ceremonial mask, with big, scary teeth. We would wait for my grandma and grandpa to go to sleep when we were staying over, then challenge each other to walk down the long hall and stand in front of it in the dark. I'm pretty sure my middle brother peed his pants once. But it's not fair for me to criticize him so. I don't think I even made it through the long walk from the kitchen down the hallway to the front door. It hung on the wall next to the door. But at night, I always was afraid that it would come to life, and "num num" in my ear. I know many of you, probably none of you, know what num num is. Well, it's when somebody (or something *shudder*) puts their mouth to your ear, and then they put their lips together, and then they open them really fast, and repeat this process. It tickles like crazy! And I had many nightmares that my rocking horse was num numming my ear. My dad would either take it out of the room, or cover it up with a blanket.
