  • twas the night of October 9th, 2007. I was flying my airship, The Forgiven. I began to fall quit sleepy and suddenly, It flashed. next thing i knew, i awoke in daze hours later. I was in the Locker.
  • Do you mean, "St. Elmo's Fire"? Captain Ahab's crew saw it and were hypnotized by it. No, never have, but..I have seen ball lightening, which many say does not exist. It is real,..I know.
  • yes, I have. It was a ball of illuminated swamp gas. Seriously!
  • I watch the sunset nearly every day, but i've never seen the green flash.
  • I have, Jack! It was sunset on the Channel, of all places, but it had been a hot, sunny day, and just as the sun disappeared, there it was! It was over so quickly - literally in a flash! I couldn't believe my eyes, but everyone else saw it too! Magic... =D
  • I was sail-fishing with a former lover and a few other friends about 5 miles off the Florida Keys. The sun was getting low and we were just about to give it up for the day and head in, when one of the guys got one. He locked in his rod and the sailfish took off pulling the line so fast it almost looked as if it wasn't moving. Suddenly she leapt out of the water. She must have weighed in the neighborhood of 700 pounds. The largest I had ever seen. We started pulling her in. My lover readied the gaff hook and wound the rope round his hand and I readied a second gaff and rope. We almost had her up. I saw my lover wrap the rope an extra time round his hand. Once too many and the rope wouldn't release if the fish took off. Before I could call his attention to it, he was hooking the sailfish, suddenly on the horizon we saw the "flash". In that wink of time the fish gathered her strength and threw herself back into the sea. I tried to throw Johnnie the knife but the fish had rocked the boat and I fell. Suddenly the rope went taut. Johnnie, had a moment of surprise and then smiled a sad smile at me just before she pulled him over. I immediatiely dove in after them but they were disappeared so rapidly. She kept going down, down, down. My lungs were on fire with the need for air. A few seconds after I surfaced, there was a final burst of air bubbles that blew to the surface. Now my Johnnie sits at the bottom of the sea in Davy's Locker. I thought I saw him once in Barbados, but it couldn't have been him. Johnnie's eyes were always twinkling with mischief. The man I saw had dead gray eyes. Poor Johnnie!
  • i havent seen the green flash. i understand it to be a giant sundog that is inbetween the sunset and the viewer...so when the light passes through the cloud of vapor it shows green in color. because the earth is turning at the thousand mile a hour speed, the color lasts just for an instant.
