Arent we all the sons (& daughters) of God? I mean God created us, its pretty much the definition of a son.

..."God" has many names, as there are many religions. It amazes me that people can't figure this out. Sheesh. At their core, most religions promote the same things - love yourself, your neighbor, be nice to one another, don't kill people, respect everyone, etc. Just like there are numerous cultures in the world, so there are many different facets of "God" and they are just different translations of each other. There shouldn't be any of this "My god and kick your god's ass!" it should be "You're god is my god. Lets stop killing each other over it!" Having said that, I'm an atheist and even I figured that one out.

Maybe God is manifested in many different ways. Maybe religion is a journey through which there are many doors-not a fundamentalist dogma.

If Jesus was just a prophet it wouldnt make sense for him to come as being foretold as the messiah..savior of the world..predicted in a few thousands years before and mentioned a few hundred times thoughout the bible by different authors and times..how he is to be born, live and die NO prophet even Muhammad had that kind of prediction about himself nor Buddah.Their lives were not set in time or foretold to such precised accuratecy.This the proof that Jesus is more than a prophet..he is what he came to be The Saviour of the World sent by God.

Muslims believe that God(Allah) has no parents or childrens and that he is not a person. There is also only one Allah. The old testament of the Christians actualy states no where that Jesus is the Son of God. After Paul came he and others changed the bible and said that Jesus will take your sins for you. What doesnt make sense is if jesus is the son of god then why would God punish his own Son for the sins of his slaves/servants(us)!? If jesus is God then how is he also the son of god? You should read the old testament and the Quran(book of Muslims). Make sure the Quran is an English translation though(its originally in Arabic). He called himself the Son of Man. The scriptures that PeacebyJesus quotes from the Gospel of John are taken out of context. John 5:18 quotes "the Jews," not Yeshua (Jesus). John 10:36 refers to "him whom the Father hath sanctified," and could mean ANYONE who preached the "Word of God." He also said to the people of Jerusalem "Ye are all gods." . WHO SAYS that Allah chose Yeshua? I've been through seven different translations of the Bible, including the Apocrypha, Genesis to Revelation, and I can't find any reference to Allah.

Well relgious proclamations are not my speciality, but taking this situation to a common sence brings the following conclusion: Say, tomorrow one Arab (or whoever)decides to announce, that he's a World's bellybutton, that I have to obey his will and dedicaate my life to serve him and advetrize him around the world... After 40 years of study, my conclusion is that Yeshua (the real name of the man we now call Jesus), and no one else, chose himself as a prophet. He knew the old scriptures and prophecies, including some that have since been lost, and planned out his life to fit them. Note that Prophet, here, means revealer of truths, not foreteller of the future. He blew the foretelling thing pretty badly with that "This generation shall not pass away" blunder.

There are different ways that the Holy Bible has been worded but all meaning the same thing. The King James Version, The Living Bible, etc. But each verse each chapter says the same thing just in a different way. I also must say this. Jesus wasnt 'just another prophet'. He was the Ultimate Sacrifice. The One and the Only. God sent His son to DIe a death for sins he did not commit. For my sins and your sins. And eventhough Jesus is still denied today and looked at as "Just another prophet like the great Muhammed," He is the only one who proclaimed Himself as the Only Way to the Father. No one goes to the Father but through Him. You will see. Every one will . God has the final word. The Beginning and the End.

Well, you're trying to make sense out of two contradictory religions here. They will never agree on this point, so there really isn't any point in trying. The Bible never suggested God choosing Jesus as a prophet. The Quran never endorsed the jewish belief in a Messiah. Since christianity stems from judiaism, and islam and jewish religions are polar opposites, it is impossible to meld the two ideas.

Never once did Jesus say he was the Son of God, God, or anything of the sort.When asked outright if he was the son of God, Jesus didn't say yes but "if YOU say so." In fact the bible has a verse where Jesus was called a prophet and Adam the son of God. Luke 3:23-38 and Matthew 21:11, See for yourself.

I do not think that there is any problem with Jesus claiming to be the Son of God from either a Jewish or Islamic perspective. The title of Son of God is not meant to be literally and it refers to a title of the Messiah as King of Israel.There are no connotations of divinity implied. It is based on 2 Samuel 7:14 where God says that future Kings of Israel will be his sons. "I will be his father and he shall be my Son..." Furthermore, Jesus instructed all his followers to refer to God as their Father in the lords prayer.(Our Father who is in Heaven...) This implies that everyone including Jews and Muslims are the sons and daughters of God without being divine.

The Holy Bible does say that Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus' mother Mary was a virgin. MATTHEW 1:18 His Mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. The Holy spirit is the spirit of God, so if Mary was with child through the Holy Spirit that would make Jesus the Son of God. does it matter if Jesus said it or not? The Bible clearly states that Jesus is the Son of God.

Then he said to the paralytic, "Get up, take your mat and go home." The Lord Jesus Christ exercised an ability that is reserved for God ALONE. What does that mean? Jehova had said onto me (David), thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee." David was called God's Begotten Son. The Bible says "Seth (is) the son of Adam" and that"Adam is the son of God." The answer is simple. The Quran rejects the notion that God/The First/The Last/The Eternal/The Creator can have a man(a creation of the Creator) or any other creations as children or offspring of any kind. The Qurans says in Chapter 112 verse 3 "He begets not nor was He begotten." The literal and allegorical meaning is that The God of the Heavens has no children. The next exact verse of the same chapter translates "There is none comparable or co equal to Him" which further indicates the vast separation between The Majestic and his creations. The Quran also classifies Jesus as a Prophet and Messenger(The Psalms) but not as a "Son of God" so a Muslim will always reject the "SOn of God" title.

Let us take an example It is said in Bible that God created the Universe, Earth, Star, Moon in six days of a week and on seventh rested. Tell me why the supreme entity has to take rest. We are all children of God. Jesus was a path to show us how to get back to the Father. Many mistake this to mean he was God's only son and we are all just shit out of luck.

God Sent Many Prophets, All Prophets of God God is the greatest NONE can match him. People of that day no doubt called him the son of god, as did they to many other prophets, but were they his followers? Jesus is identified as “son of David” fourteen times in the New Testament, starting with the very first verse (Matthew 1:1). The Gospel of Luke documents forty-one generations between Jesus and David, while Matthew lists twenty-six. Jesus, a distant descendant, can only wear the “son of David” title metaphorically. But how then should we understand the title, “son of God?” The “Trilemma,” a common proposal of Christian missionaries, states that “Jesus was either a lunatic, a liar, or the Son of God, as he claimed to be.” For the sake of argument, let’s agree that Jesus was neither a lunatic nor a liar. Let’s also agree he was precisely what he claimed to be. But what, exactly, was that? Jesus called himself “Son of Man” frequently, consistently, perhaps even emphatically, but where did he call himself “Son of God?” Let’s back up. What does “Son of God” mean in the first place? No legitimate Christian sect suggests that God took a wife and had a child, and most certainly none conceive that God fathered a child through a human mother outside of marriage. In the Islamic viewpoint, God’s character is integral with His being and consistent with His majesty. So again, what does “Son of God” mean? And if Jesus Christ has exclusive rights to the term, why does the Bible record, “...for I (God) am a father to Israel, and Ephraim (i.e. Israel) is my firstborn” (Jeremiah 31:9) and, “...Israel is My son, even my firstborn” (Exodus 4:22)? Taken in the context of Romans 8:14, which reads, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God,” many scholars conclude that “Son of God” is metaphorical and, as with christos, doesn’t imply exclusivity. After all, The Oxford Dictionary of the Jewish Religion confirms that in Jewish idiom “Son of God” is clearly metaphorical. To quote, “Son of God, term occasionally found in Jewish literature, biblical and post-biblical, but nowhere implying physical descent from the Godhead.”[1] Hasting’s Bible Dictionary comments: In Semitic usage “sonship” is a conception somewhat loosely employed to denote moral rather than physical or metaphysical relationship. So a “son of God” is a man, or even a people, who reflect the character of God. Investigating the manuscripts that make up the New Testament, one finds that the alleged “sonship” of Jesus is based upon the mistranslation of two Greek words—pais and huios, both of which are translated as “son.” However, this translation appears disingenuous. The Greek word pais derives from the Hebrew ebed, which bears the primary meaning of servant, or slave. Hence, the primary translation of pais theou is “servant of God,” with “child” or “son of God” being an extravagant embellishment. According to the Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, “The Hebrew original of pais in the phrase pais theou, i.e., ebed, carries a stress on personal relationship and has first the sense of ‘slave.’”[1] This is all the more interesting because it dovetails perfectly with the prophecy of Isaiah 42:1, upheld in Matthew 12:18: “Behold, My servant [i.e., from the Greek pais] whom I have chosen, My beloved in whom my soul is well pleased …” Whether a person reads the King James Version, New King James Version, New Revised Standard Version, or New International Version, the word is “servant” in all cases. Considering that the purpose of revelation is to make the truth of God clear, one might think this passage an unsightly mole on the face of the doctrine of divine sonship. After all, what better place for God to have declared Jesus His son? What better place to have said, “Behold, My son whom I have begotten …”? But He didn’t say that. For that matter, the doctrine lacks biblical support in the recorded words of both Jesus and God, and there is good reason to wonder why. Unless, that is, Jesus was nothing more than the servant of God this passage describes. Regarding the religious use of the word ebed, “The term serves as an expression of humility used by the righteous before God.”[2] Furthermore, “After 100 B.C. pais theou more often means “servant of God,” as when applied to Moses, the prophets, or the three children (Bar. 1:20; 2:20; Dan. 9:35).”[3] A person can easily get into doctrinal quicksand: “Of eight instances of this phrase, one refers to Israel (Lk. 1:54), two refer to David (Lk 1:69; Acts 4:25), and the other five to Jesus (Mt. 12:18; Acts 3:13, 26; 4:27, 30)…. In the few instances in which Jesus is called pais theou we obviously have early tradition.”[4] So Jesus did not have exclusive rights to this term, and where it was employed the term “obviously” stemmed from “early tradition.” Furthermore, the translation, if impartial, should identify all individuals to whom the phrase was applied in similar manner. Such, however, has not been the case. Whereas pais has been translated “servant” in reference to David (Acts 4:25 and Luke 1:69) and Israel (Luke 1:54), it is translated “Son” or “holy child” in reference to Jesus (Acts 3:13; 3:26; 4:27; 4:30). Such preferential treatment is canonically consistent, but logically flawed. Lastly an interesting, if not key, religious parallel is uncovered: “Thus the Greek phrase pais tou theou, ‘servant of God,’ has exactly the same connotation as the Muslim name Abdallah—the ‘servant of Allah.’”[5] The symmetry is all the more shocking, for the Holy Qur’an relates Jesus as having identified himself as just this—Abdallah (abd being Arabic for slave or servant, Abd-Allah [also spelled “Abdullah”] meaning slave or servant of Allah). According to the story, when Mary returned to her family with the newborn Jesus, they accused her of being unchaste. Speaking from the cradle in a miracle that gave credence to his claims, baby Jesus defended his mother’s virtue with the words, “Inni Abdullah …” which means, “I am indeed a servant of Allah …” (TMQ 19:30) Translation of the New Testament Greek huios to “son” (in the literal meaning of the word) is similarly flawed. On page 1210 of Kittel and Friedrich’s Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, the meaning of huios journeys from the literal (Jesus the son of Mary), to mildly metaphorical (believers as sons of the king [Matt. 17:25-26]), to politely metaphorical (God’s elect being sons of Abraham [Luke 19:9]), to colloquially metaphorical (believers as God’s sons [Matt. 7:9 and Heb 12:5]), to spiritually metaphorical (students as sons of the Pharisees [Matt. 12:27, Acts 23:6]), to biologically metaphorical (as in John 19:26, where Jesus describes his favorite disciple to Mary as “her son”), to blindingly metaphorical as “sons of the kingdom” (Matt. 8:12), “sons of peace” (Luke. 10:6), “sons of light” (Luke. 16:8), and of everything from “sons of this world” (Luke 16:8) to “sons of thunder” (Mark 3:17). It is as if this misunderstood word for “son” is waving a big sign on which is painted in bold letters: METAPHOR! Well, in certain translations of the bible, various prophets and virtuous believers are also called sons of God. So one interpretation is that Jesus wasn't trying to set himself apart as the one and only son of God; he was saying that he was a child of God because he followed his will. This is just one possible explanation and it doesn't necessarily reflect the opinion of Lonely dragon.

He was CRUCIFIED. That was a Roman execution, carried out by Romans under the orders of the Roman governor. For the Jews, it was unthinkable, and blasphemous, to hang a man on a tree, or on anything made of wood. If the Jews had been doing it, they would have stoned him to death. And he was not punished for claiming to be the son of God, for he never said that; he called himself "The Son of Man." That was a title which other prophets had held before him, and which meant a man wholly devoted to the service of God. He was punished because his followers thought he was (or should be) the King of the Jews. He certainly had a better claim than Herod, who came not from the land of Judaea, but from Idumaea. Herod had been installed as a puppet king by the Romans, because they could control him. The Romans understood Jesus as a pretender to the throne, therefore a rebel leading an insurrection. They had every reason to believe that, since he was a direct descendant of David and Solomon. Now here is where it gets tricky. The Romans had TWO men in prison, both named Jesus (actually in Hebrew their name was Yeshua). One was the man whom the Christians call their Messiah. The other was Jesus Bar Abbas, who was a leader of "the insurrection" (Mark 15:7). "Bar Abbas" means "the son of the father." . Your Jesus had been going about for three years talking about "my Father in Heaven." Now we have both Jesuses identified as "son of The Father," in Roman eyes at least, and both identified as leaders in the insurrection. Whatever the Jews may have been thinking when they cried out that they wanted "Jesus" released and "Jesus" killed, we shall never know. But, based upon what is printed in the Bible, it is quite clear that Jesus never called himself the Son of God, and that he was killed by the Romans, not the Jews.

In the Gospel of Barnabas, we are told that Jesus (pbuh) knew that mankind would make him a god after his departure and severely cautioned his followers from having anything to do with such people. Jesus was not the son of a human man (according to both the Bible and the holy Qur'an). However, we find him constantly saying "I am the son of man." Why?. It was because in the language of the Jews, that is how you say "I am a human being." What was he trying to tell us by constantly repeating and emphasizing to us throughout the New Testament "I am a human being," "I am a human being," "I am a human being"?. What had he foreseen? Think about it!. Do Christians emphasize this aspect of Jesus? The New Testament Greek word translated as "son" are "pias" and "paida" which mean "servant," or "son in the sense of servant." These are translated to "son" in reference to Jesus and "servant" in reference to all others in some translations of the Bible. As we are beginning to see, one of the most fundamental reasons why Jesus (pbuh) is considered God is due to extensive mistranslation. Islam teaches that Jesus (pbuh) was a human being, not a god. Jesus (pbuh) continually emphasized this to his followers throughout his mission. The Gospel of Barnabas also affirms this fact. Once again, Grolier's encyclopedia says: "...Most problematical of all is the title "Son of Man." This is the only title used repeatedly by Jesus as a self-designation, and there is no clear evidence that it was used as a title of majesty by the post-Easter church. Hence it is held by many to be authentic, since it passes the criterion of dissimilarity." Is Jesus (pbuh) a divine son of God because he called God "Father"? Well, how do all Christians refer to Him? What does Jesus himself have to tell us in this regard? Let us read "That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven..." Matthew 5:45 and "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Matthew 5:48: ...etc. There are countless verses in the Bible to this effect. To understand what is meant by the reference to "Father" we need only read John 8:42: "Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me." So the love of God and His prophets is what makes God someone's "father." Similarly, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do." John 8:44 Obviously neither the Devil nor God is the physical father of any of them. The term "Father" in that day and age was used by the Jews in the same sense that Christians use the word "father" today to address a priest. It was not meant to be taken literally. Otherwise, the Bible would bear witness that every believer in Jesus (pbuh) is also the "physical" son of God. Further, please note that Joseph is called a "father" to Pharaoh in Genesis 45:8, and Job is called the "father" of the poor in Job 29:16. Once we read all of this we begin to understand how the Jews used to understand the reference to God Almighty as "Father." peace..:)

Before Jesus said he was the son of God he made it plain that we were all the children of God. So in saying he was the Son of God he would not have been saying he was anything out of the ordinary. Man chooses prophets by labelling them as such only Mohammad labelled Jesus a prophet and then claimed the same status for himself. To some Muslims, the term "Son of God" brings up images of a sort of divine being with a goddess wife who together have somehow produced a child. So when Christians use the term in reference to Jesus, they immediately assume that the Christians are committing blasphemy by stating that God has participated in some sort of sexual union with another god - a goddess wife. No where in the Bible does it say that God had relations with anyone to produce a literal son, nor has Christianity taught that God produced a son through any physical act whatsoever. Such a thing is heretical. Nevertheless, the Bible in numerous places calls Jesus the Son of God. But, it does not mean that Jesus is the literal offspring of God. The Muslims need to ask what does that term mean, in its historic and biblical context. Instead of imposing upon the biblical term a meaning that is foreign to it, the Muslim should learn what the Bible means by the term and think of it in the context as revealed in the Scriptures where it is used. To not do that would be the same as me taking a term out of the Qur'an, remove it from its Qur'anic context, and applying another meaning to it and then saying what the Qur'an teaches is false. The term 'Son of God' is used in different senses in the Bible. But, never does it mean that God has a wife and produces offspring. It's ludicrous to think that. The Term "Son of God" occurs 47 times in the King James New Testament. In reference to Jesus, it is a title as the heavenly, eternal Son who is equal to God the Father (John 5:18-24). It is Jesus who fully reveals the Father (Matt. 11:27). He is the exact representation of the Father (Heb. 1:1-3), He possesses all authority in heaven and earth (Matt. 28:18), and Jesus had glory with the Father before the world was made (John 17:5). Jesus called Yahweh God His Father quite often, which tells me that He is God's Son. Common sense tells you that. The Muslim is taught from the Qur'an and therefore cannot accept the fact that Jesus is divine. To the Muslim, that is shirk, blasphemy of the worst kind. But believing it doesn't make it so. To the Christian, and according to the Bible, Jesus is the one who alone saves us from our sins. We cannot earn our way to heaven, perform enough good works to please God, or ever be "sincere enough" in repentance to somehow obtain forgiveness from God. Instead, Christianity is a faith in God's great love and sacrifice for His creation. Jesus, the Son of God, is the divine one who fulfilled prophecies, walked on water, healed the sick, and rose from the dead. Only the Son of God can do these things.
