I think he was both. He certainly was mad and definitely was a genius.
-
Genius gone mad.
-

-
I have to agree with the group on this one BOTH as most high IQ's are, but He was not totally responsible alone and he was manipulated just to blind to see it ... how do you get an uninvited guest to leave ??? ~Nemo~
-

-
Hitler ? I hardly even know her !! xD
-
The greatest criminal, the son of Satan!!!
-
G'day Big Ears ;-0) Adolf was undoubtably a strange mix of a bloke. Auzziegob has never found any evidence of him being psychiatrically mad in a medical sense. He was a genious at manipulating the masses. He got a pope to willingly help him out. Maybe he could be described as "a right nutter"
-
a mix really, you can't deny he was a brilliant man that did a lot of good for germnay, an infectious speaker and a charismatic leader...his vision was a little skewed but in his mind he was doing what was best for germany..not much different than america dropping 2 A bombs on japan...doing what was best for our country...even if it was a little skewed
-
Mad man hitlers people who worked for him came up with those horrid ideas
-
Genius and an amazing leader.... but a mad man!
-
genius with ambition
-
evil genius?
-
Opinionated
-
A Mad inhuman psycho
-
only a mad man would say he's a 'genius'. There's nothing genius about him. he's as much of a genius as george bush.
-
both... which is a very dangerous combination
-
How about dumbass!
-
There's a very fine line between madness and genius.
-
I think that alot of people like to call him mad or insane because they are extremely uncomfortable with the idea that a sane person could commit the atrocities that Hitler did. I think he was a political genius, and knew to surround himself with very competent and loyal people. In the academic sense, Hitler actually showed a very half baked intellectual understanding of many of the great thinkers of his day as shown in his book Mein Kampf.
-
He was probably as mad as he was because of his intellect. It's very sad what a mad genius is capable of.
-
He was a genius. Probably one of the smartest men to live. But, he used his knowledge in a bad way.
-
Madman.
-
Mad man. His ingenuity got in the way of his ability to see what deplorable, inhumane "things" he was doing and affected his ability to experience the feeling of remorse. Wish he would have been smart enough to realize how evil a person he was so that he could have taken the cyanide LONG before he did. Then, maybe SO MANY innocent human beings wouldn't have been murdered by him and those in his Reich who also couldn't see the WRONG they were doing. What absolutely dreadful and EXTREMELY sad course of events in the history of the world!
-
Flawed madman
-
Definitely a madman!
-
He was a genius ONLY politically, both domestically and in recognizing the weakness of foreign leaders.
-
Well, either way he was definitely a bit grouchy.
-
Mad and genius is just the same, they are both different from the ordinary people. And there is no such thing ordinary...
-
Of course a madman!
-
Hitler is burning in Hell as I post this. May he suffer forever and ever in a blazing hot fire.
-
Both; the man was mad no doubt about that, but when it came to political manuvering, manipulation and propaganda the man was a genius. Pre war hed did impliment some amazing ideas, like the autobahn, and volkswagen etc; sadly the man was pure evil and mad as well. If you read Hitler:rise to power by allan bullock, youll see the genius behind how he manipulated the gemran government and people into giving him office. Dont get me wong i hate the man.
-
Mad man. There was no stroke of genius about him except for his ability to brainwash an entire population into submission
-
i feel he was more mad man than genius. i also feel he is very over rated, many accomplishments attributed to him can be traced back to the work of others.
-
i deny the adolf hitler
-
Madman and evil genious. It is scary how easily people are brainwashed to allow such an atrocity happen.
-
There is no doubt that he was a talented orator, but he was also one of the most evil people (if not the most) to ever walk the face of the earth. I have also heard that he had advanced stages of syphilis which would have contributed insanity to his coctail of evil and oratory skills. I don't know about genius, because he decided to invade the Soviet Union before Europe was completely secured and failed to control the Japanese enough to keep the USA out of the war. The newest private in the Army can tell you that it is foolish to divide your forces to fight in two vast theaters with the finite resources that Germany had. Hitler aslo failed to learn a lesson from Napoleon in that he continued his assault in Russia during the brutal winter (as we know those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it, and thankfully in this case). Were this man the genius that he is purported to have been, he may have achieved world domination, or at least came a lot closer than he actually did.

Hitler is burning in Hell
-
Total freak!!!!
-
Both.
-
Failed artist who thought he was a genius and got mad when he had to hang wallpaper for a living. :p
-
Genius at what, killing people? I think he was a Man with very very low morals and very big ideas, he was a amazing speech maker, he was able to motivate huge crowds and get them into a frenzy, was he a genius no not by a long shot, alot of his generals were way way smarter then he ever thought of being. In the end he was just a man that killed a whole lot of people with very sad ideas about a perfect race and the only way to get their in his mind "to kill off all the other races", little man that swayed millions into destroying their own country. Did i mention to do the things he had done for him "He had no conscience whatsoever". He was more of a devil then a man.
-
He was definitely a genius. He was however, only good at being deceptively evil.
