Parents who let the kids raise themselves cause the children who become adults to become confused as to what is right and wrong. Very simply, a girl who values the physical over the emotional is a slut. I currently work with a woman (33) who couldn't stop telling everyone in the office how she was 'finally going to get married'...flashing the ring she received and waving it around like a flag of achievement. I must admit, even though I hate the term 'slut' and everything it implies, I have been known to use it more than once..
