my list is rather short here for i judge a good director by the validity of a finished film product. therefore, the greatest director in the history of sci-fi would have to go to the late great George pal. it was he who masterfully directed H. G. Wells war the world's and the time machine. to movies I picked out of a list of a hundred that were truly George Pal's directorial masterpieces!!!

At the moment, Michael Haneke But Alfred Hitchcock is most likely my favorite of all time -- phenomenal talent. Making such classic, popular films - - they were popular movies, yet, they weren't stupid movies, in my opinion. [ My vocabulary is severely limited tonight -- "stupid" is not the word I wanted. Usually I find many popular movies "stupid." But Hitchcock's films were popular, yet, they remain a class above so much of what I've seen in my life. ] +5
